PSA COLLECTOR I have a huge collection of mint condition 1970s 1980s baseball cards. I also have football cards and nascar cards. I definitely need some advice on how to get these graded and sold for the most value. I got these when I was a child from my sisters dad. They were all brand new in the package and I opened them all. There was so much gum and that was rock solid. Lol. Get ahold of me please. I got a huge collection and they have just been sitting here in a plastic case and plastic card holding pages. They were never really used. I hardly ever touched them. I would guess they are at least rated a 9. Like literally every card I have is probably rated a 9 or 10.

Good video glad you called out some of the channels that try to lead people into a pit paying hundreds or thousands on unproven players Most of those guys are just card flippers that know nothing about the game and try to build up the market by misleading people so they can sell there junk

Again, killing it... Great knowledge. I research all the players before I invest in, however, I do gamble on some prospects and new rookies but I only do it if I enjoy the players with no intention of selling anytime soon. I think another great stat to look at for Baseball at least is WAR (wins above replacement) Mike Trout is wayyyyy up there. But great video.. love it man! I think I'll be using the reference website more often.

I agree w 90's and early 00's athletes. I actually started looking at Barry Sanders. For most of us 90's kids, he was the best back that ever played. I generally stick w QBs.

It's amazing how much people spend on players who haven even touched the field. I was watching a video where a Ben Roethlisberger rc sold for 3k and a RC of a qb like Kyler Murray went for 10k. Unbelievable. I bought in to Josh Dobbs last year. I purchased a RC auto patch for 60 dollars banking on Roethlisberger being injured and him beating out Mason. Turns out I was wrong in several areas.

Great advice alot of people should not be buying cards right now which no one wants to admit or hear, with that said prices are so high for some of these new rookies that there is no upside no matter how they perform. And it is just hype. The best advice would be no matter who you collect just always buy at the lowest price, so you can get a good ROI someday.

Good show, Matt. That's what I've been talking about. Do your homework. Watch videos of players you're interested in. Look at their stats. Word of mouth doesn't tell you if a player is worth investing in. Have a good one.

Just a quick question as I am new to this whole thing ... I recently purchased Devers bowman 2015 rookie cards psa 10 but am seeing alot of completed sales of his rookie psa 10 2018 topps chrome... how do we determine which one is his true rookie and the one to purchase? If we wait to see via completed you will be late to the game and it will be more $$$...any insight on this would be great as there are a great bunch of rookies in the 2016 bowman but I want to put my money where I will get the best return...so do we go with the topps rookie or bowman? Any insight would be great cheers

My personal collection only has HOF players or potential HOF players. Some are graded, but most are not. In Baseball My favorites are Jeter, Ripken, Thomas, Ryan, Maddux, Griffey, Jr. and Chipper plus others. My potential baseball players are A-Rod, Bonds, Clemens and McGuire. In Basketball, Jordan, Shaq, Barkley, Bird, Malone, Olajuwon plus others. The only potential is Robert Horrey because of the number of championships. In Football, Emmitt, Rice, Montana, Elway, Marino, Young, Shannon Sharp plus others. Future HOF, Big Ben, Brady, Rivers, Brees and others. I was getting ready to submit a bulk submission to PSA, but they are shutdown because of the COVID-19. Now don’t me wrong, I have some of today’s stars in all three sports, but I pulled them all from packs/boxes that I purchased.

Collect vintage pre-1980 or all time greats. Simple as that. Its a marathon not a race. I buy for long term investment. Modern card market is way too risky. People are still buying tobacco cards and not one person alive can even remember seeing them play or were alive when they did. Hank Aaron's and Willie Mays cards are the most underrated and their legends will only grow with time.

Collecting all time great Yankees is always a safe bet too. They have such a huge market, there will always be interest. Of course there is Mantle but don't forget about Ford, Berra, Maris, Munson, Rivera, Mattingly, Jeter, Jackson to name a few.

1:52 Did any of the epic cards of the last century get too high within 10 years of playing? I think Mantle, Ruth, Nolan Ryan, all were reasonable prices in their 10th year. Barry Bonds and Mark McGwire Tiffany rookies might have been pricey at the 10 year mark. Jordan was probably expensive for a "mint" Fleer rookie that would get an 8 based on centering that we'd look at and think its fine. Those are the only exceptions that I can think of, Gretzky rookies are still a fair price; considering he's the only Hockey player that's a household name. I'd want a 7.5 Topps rookie and a signed OPC card that would probably grade authentic altered (just to keep the price down) but getting it signed isn't easy.

have been through 4 Black Swans so far at 52, and have seen cards crash every single time, had card shops in the 90s/2000s and lost the last two after 9/11 wiped out 3,000 card shops around the world mostly in the USA...the hobby always recovers but most of the cardboard out there becomes pretty worthless...BGS/PSA is definitely the way to go BUT it all depends on your age, runway, injuries, economics, and many things that you cannot control so make darn sure that you manage the things you can control like credit, debt, inventory, financing, social media, etc.

I am a fan of the 1990 Donruss set design. Massively overprinted though. I think Griffey gem mint 10 would be cool and Bonds, Ryan etc.

I’m a Dobbs fan too I hope he gets chance to shine!!! I bought a few Dobbs but luckily I bout a lot more Kamara then Dobbs but like I said I wld love to see what he can do if he gets the chance!!
