The only scenario I can see a 50 cent yard sale happening is the wife finding out her husbands been cheating while he’s still at work

We had one like that when my grandparents died, we had everything in section A 50 cents, B was $2, C was 5, D was 10, and E was 10+ But that was when we were selling everything they owned that no one wanted to keep in the family. If they were cleaning out a garage or a shed or something and just want it gone I could definitely see a 50 cent garage sale happening

Don’t know if it’s a smaller town thing, but I’ve seen these types of garage sales all around town my whole life. In fact, for a few years, there was a family a few houses over that had garage sales seasonally. They had two young kids and would sell the stuff the kids had outgrown at the end of each season.

I've been going to garage sales all my life and I've never seen a 50 cent garage sale. At best you may get one that does 75% off of first day prices but all the good stuff is gone by then because it's the end of the weekend.

Yeah nothing like goin to the local goodwill especially on a 1 dollar clothes day, find some decent stuff, and sell it on some general sites, as well as some more clothing specific ones. Make like 3-4 dollars per item usually, not too hard to make decent pocket money until you get enough for the item you want or to go for bigger fish, like it got me enough so that I could start missing switches which get me like 200 profit each, just for changing the outside shells of the switch+cons

Easy to figure this out, you can look at sold things on eBay. You can also see how many sold in the last 90 days and for how much. Make sure you charge enough shipping, don't do free shipping, shipping is NEVER free for anyone. If you don't charge enough shipping, you may lose all you profit to shipping.

Yes, but it's a great starting point, because most kids that age don't know the actual price of the items since they've never had to purchase them. And since it is used, and as long as it's working, a kid could essentially cut that price in half, put it up for $30 and still make a really nice profit of $29.50. Sell 10 items like that and that's about 300 bucks. The goal is to teach them the value of a dollar and what its like to earn your own money. But I'm sure you knew that already

Yes, so don’t be an idiot and expect to sell an old notebook for a fortune. But study closed auctions and see how much various objects are selling for. Things like old jewelry can sell cheap or bring surprisingly big money. You have to have an eye for what’s going to sell and you have to be willing to educate yourself a little bit. Don’t be lazy or you’ll never make any money obviously. I sold a couple of old paintings that I hated for several hundred each. You never know with things like art. Some people like bad art.

@Asphincter says what? LOL! Dude, I've been doing this for 16 years. You act like EVERYTHING on ebay is seasonal clothing or holiday decorations? How F'ing bad at this are you? LOL! I did over100.00 alone on 1 Wii game, 1 PS2 game, and one GameBoy title that I paid all of 2.00 on. You are a clueless rube that sucks at this, and think some 4th grade attempts at insults is phasing me? I just did 1,680.00 last week on stuff from the Goodwill (0 antiques), and that's with me taking a 3 day weekend, while your dumb @ss is scrounging for "Tommy Bahama Silk shirts" with all of the other Poshmark moms, crying that you cant sell anything. You are my favorite type of seller. bad at it, bitter, and eventually you quit, leaving more room for the rest of us.

1. You’d have to find a yard sale. 2. You’d have to find a buyer. You can list the thing at whatever you want, doesn’t mean anyone will buy it. 3. You’d have to actually have the initial capital to buy those things. No, even if it’s crap, you’ll be very unlikely to find anything for 50cents except like hot wheels or old movies.

Yep, start small and you can work yourself up. My mom started selling on ebay in the early days of it and she still sells to this day. We make about 16k a year from just what we have right now. If we were more serious about it, it could be way more. Just find what you can and start selling

Love living in Britain where I have never seen one of these sales ever in my life. Isn't this the same as just buying people's old things cheap then selling them to get some money? You could just find old clothes that don't fit or you don't wear and stuff that you don't use or don't need and sell them if the quality is good enough to sell.
