This was the first time, I think, that Rex was in charge. Everything that happened was on him. There's no way that won't affect him going forward. It's easier to be a d-bag when it's just your skin. If you have any empathy and you realize the cost to other people of frakking up, you tend to tamp down on your screwing up.

@@kingcaesar3693 that's not how leadership and responsibility work. Rex took on the role of leader, so all successes or failures are on his watch. He was joking about who pays for the pizza during the fight. He didn't take it seriously until Kate was dead. Things might have gone differently if he'd pulled his head out of his ass before going into the situation.

The only reason he killed Komodo Dragon was cause the idiot ate his hand with a already loaded blast about to go off. They did their best dude. They simply never had to fight these guys without someone around with those traits. Also if by serious you mean panicking to just survive, then yeah I guess not. He was getting bodied in the comic too before that happened.

@@Acceleration50 Yeah, this one was on Cecil. He has the resources to send overwhelming force in response to a threat like this. Those undead cyborg soldiers. Laser canons that cut a Mauler Twin to ribbons. A teleporter! Just stealth in, since you can, and teleport the supervillains into space, or into a solid mountain. There were so many better options than sending three low-powered heroes to die.

I knew Allen wasn’t dead! I just knew it! Well, I hoped…and I am so glad he survived. Tough love by that Viltrumite, but it worked. One reactor laughed about how they showed he was a Viltrumite by removing the beard and just showing his moustache. LOL

@@funnylilgalreacts It was a real beard, its a joke in the comics that the viltrimites have a special technique called the "Toolock pull" that proves an uncover agent is a viltrimite, and the whole thing is that they just pull their beard out but leave the mustache (and apparently it hurts and they don't like doing it)

Cecil isn’t a complete jerk, and while he has ulterior motives for extending the hand of friendship, none of the superheroes ever seem to negotiate effectively with Cecil. And while I know what happens in the comic books, I just have to ask, why doesn’t Cecil just offer a compensation package and on-demand part-time degree programs for the teen superheroes? They have options for child actors to get an education and have a life outside of acting, so why can’t they find an alternative option? Or hell, just put Mark on a similar program as the GI Bill. He earns a free ride to college for a four year commitment to the Earth, plus hazard pay, the whole bit. In four years, you’re telling me Cecil and Donald couldn’t find an alternative solution to the problem?

Yeah I understood and liked Cecil in season 1, but I'm really getting to hate him this season. He treats the guardians and mark like cheap workers, almost like dogs or slaves. You'd think after Omni-Mans Betrayal and all the damage he caused, Cecil would've learned to tread superheroes more cautiously and give his best to not land on their bad side. But he just spits orders at them, offers nothing in return and acts almighty, as if some of them couldn't easily rip him in two pieces. I really hope next episode someone punches him in the face and spills the beans at him, for being such a prick and making those teens already uneasy lifes even harder - and even sending some of them to their deaths (Cecil is smart, so I think he damn well knew that Rex, Kate and Raes chances against the Lizard League weren't that great. Maybe he even hoped they would get him rid of Rex)

And let’s face it, the new guardians are a pretty crappy compared to the old one. Villains won’t wait for the new guardians to become as strong as the old one. It’s Cecil’s job to make sure they get up to speed quickly. If he doesn’t people die. Also I don’t think Cecil would send Rex there to die. Unless he is actually evil. But I don’t think he is. Rex may be an idiot, but killing him would be a waste. It’s not like he can easily find another superhero to take his place.

SPOILERS: Shrinking Rae's death is easily Top 5 most disturbing deaths i've ever seen, and Dupli-Kate's was straight out of a Mortal Kombat Finisher, but honestly this needed to happen. Robot picked some bums for the Guardians of the Globe Roster. Anyone who gets put on that team needs to clear a minimum durability threshold. Also, Rex needed to get humbled like this, thry might have all lived if he'd taken the confrontation seriously from jump.

That they fight like crap and when it comes to other super beings. All they've been doing so far before anyone GOT SERIOUS like those Lizard people? Was doing some sort of Saturday morning power rangers putty beat down crap. All it does is set characters up for a bigger failure.

I mean, you're not wrong, but it seems to me that Rex is and always was the weakest Guardian, so if anybody should have died in that fight, it was him. His attitude alone was enough of a reason for him to not make the initial cut, so I was shocked when Robot picked him.

I mean we saw the rest of the people who tried out and they all looked trash. The only problem was depleting their ranks and not leaving behind any heavy hitters that could go toe to toe with the super strength member of the Lizard League. Having members with zero super strength against someone like him was just a horrible matchup. If Bulletproof, Immortal or Samson was there it would have been a different outcome entirely.

They all might have lived if Cecil didn’t send 3 of the weakest team members to go after the League lol. We definitely saw more heroes during that Omtipotus fight that he could’ve sent as well lol. Rex may have not been treating it seriously, but Cecil knew damn well they weren’t prepared lol.

One of the best things about the show is it changes just enough from the comics that comic fans like me (Invincible is my favorite comic of all time) is that it follows the story from the comic in general terms, but the individual moments and order of events are different enough to make it feel new to me

The Lizard League was a parody of Cobra from GI Joe and Magnetos Brotherhood Of Mutants. Too many parody shows were just turning certain caricature characters and fictional organizations into ONE DIMENSIONAL non fleshed out jokes that play off like a dead horse. Cecil could have sent in teams and hunted them down WHEN THEY WERE A JOKE. And look what happened.

Kate and Rae's deaths have left me traumatised. I have to keep trying to not think about it. Then I was unboxing action figures today and came across a tiny little Rae that's included with the Atom Eve DST figure and that completely screwed up my day. I just stopped what I was doing and walked out of my room and that was the end of that.

just wanted to say: never been a fan of reaction stuff in the past. last month when i was on sick leave wanted to watch some expanse scenes and mistakenly clicked on your "i'm that guy" reaction. since then, watched nearly all your expanse and galactica episodes. it's actually pretty amazing but emotional reactions i felt when watching them years ago are near 1/1 as yours. i love to watch them and love how real they are. and patiently waiting for rest of galactica season 4!

Honestly Love your reaction to the Thraxians you totally did not fall for the trap. Most people I've seen talk about them the exact way Nolan talked about humans (worse even) after seeing that they are bug people or that they only live a year which really gives some perspective how similar we can be to the viltrumites when looking at non humans. Kinda sad too because everything we see of the Thraxians makes them seem like a great people as you said here.

He can only control so many at a time. Also he himself has to do it. In the comic they mention he had to come along for the space mission cause his implant had a limited range. They changed it here where he already started wearing the suit.

The comics backstory for the shapesmith is actually pretty different. In the comics, he was part of a rebel group that believed the story of how the sequids became the servants and their hivemind mind control was a lie told to justify the enslavement of the sequids and they purposely used Russ as a host to free them. When it went bad is when he left Mars with the earth astronauts i believe. I'm going off memory here, so i might have gotten some details/timeline stuff wrong. But he may be lying about his backstory here. I don't understand Amanda/Monster Girl's reaction to robot this episode. She's the one who told him about how her curse works and how the training can't be too frequent in season 1, and he altered the training to accommodate. He's just trying to do the same here. Is it simply because they went on the date that she's looking at it differently than when he was in charge? In the comics Donald always knew he was a cyborg In the comics, Amber told people that Mark's grandpa had died and he was out dealing with everything.

Allen got that zenkai boost. Also there maybe a Kate 0. If you had Kate's powers would you ever send yourself into danger. I would send copies to train and learn so many things before ever going into the field. She could be Batman crossed with Multiple Man. We will have to see.

"Billion dollar man" - damn the inflation. But honestly, I don't understand why almost nobody in fiction ever uses the "biggest prosthesis in history" explanation in situation like Cecil found himself in. "Bigger and stronger" screams "you're modified, changed, not oneself", screams "we made you anew to our liking" - prosthesis route hints at something already tested, accepted in society as something that really helps the wounded, just attached to the unchanged "core you", and in Donald's case just applied on bigger scale - and I'd say avoiding shocks is bed manner 101 in patients like these.

@number1fool debatable. Cecil allowed Nolan to pretend he didn't kill the Guardians instead of confronting him. Also, raw numbers of deaths are a silly way to tell who is more evil. Was Hitler better than Ghengis Khan? One killed about 12 million. The other killed around 40 million. What about Mao or Stalin? The US worked with Stalin against Hitler and Stalin killed far more people than Hitler.

Honestly, Cecil should have only sent Mark, Eve, and Robot. The others aren't much help against Sequids. Maybe send Russ but his intel sucks. And Rex's team was overmatched. Big fan of Thadeus and of course Allen. Having read the book, it was fun seeing that play out...

Andressa was not the Empress before Nolan. Nolan was crowned Emperor, and he picked Andressa. And yes, Andressa is similar to Debbie. Nolan loves Debbie so much that he cannot help but pick similar women. Everyone points to Nolan's savage line about Debbie being a pet, but in reality, Viltrumites rarely, if ever, stay with the same mate. Their courtship rituals are also quite savage, and often result in serious injury. In Nolan's defense, you love and take care of your pets, you feed and protect them because often, pets are not strong enough to do so on their own, so in his mind and culture, Debbie would qualify more as a pet. Cue the angry people screeching about "You don't have sex with your pets!" Clearly, you are unfamiliar with the beastiality laws in many countries here on our own planet. "That's against the law!" Nope, not in many countries. Canada for one allows you to do so with no legal repercussions. I guess it gets really cold and lonely up there.

The death's of Dupli-Kate and Rae make no sense. As long as Kate has one copy alive, she not in danger - so why not just leave one version home? As for Rae, she could have shrunk down smaller to avoid getting crushed by the Komodo's throat muscles. Maybe I am reading their abilities wrong.
