I tell you what, they REALLY make the Viltrumites terrifying in this show. Like everything about them is intimidating and it always seems like they have NO WAY to win. It makes the later arcs where Invincible becomes stronger all the more satisfying

The worst/best thing about this is that Anissa’s probably the most merciful viltrumite Mark will ever meet. Not only did she help stop the kaiju but she also beat down Invincible with minimal destruction and zero casualties like she was just giving tough love to a misbehaving child. Like she said this is literally her being reasonable.

Her first mistake was telling Mark to be Nolan’s son. Nolan. The guy who’s gonna be executed for failing his task.

I just want to point out Cecil’s tone with Mark. That first “Kid” honestly sounded like he was so damn touched by how Mark is so resolved but so worried at the same time. And then his later pleas for him to feign surrender sound not just like some strategic advice, but him genuinely wanting Mark to put his own safety first. Cecil is a bastard but it’s clear he’s one that does care.

I think the reason why Mark called her bluff is because, he knows firsthand that Omni man didn't give a shit about humanity. So if the Viltrumites wanted to kill mark or destroy earth they would have done it already. So mark gambled all of it and Anissa just confirmed that they need mark and earth

The unfortunate truth that was shown is that Mark is still too weak to be a threat to an actual Viltrumite warrior, Anissa is a Veteran may not be as old as Conquest but still seasoned. This fight was decided before Mark threw the first punch

One thing I like about the viltrumite power set is that they all have different styles of fighting based on their particular attributes. Anissa is noticeably faster than Omni-Man; you can quite literally see it, but she's also almost certainly on the same strength level (they fight evenly in the comics), meaning that she never needs to pull a Thula and use a weapon to compensate for weaker strength. But also, there's a reason why she doesn't kill anyone here; she likely knows that omni-man killing so many people did not teach Mark the '"lesson" it was supposed to; if anything, it solidified his opposition to Viltrumite takeover. There was likely a conversation of "okay, let's get real here, we've got less than 50 viltrumites and we need as many humans alive as possible to replenish our ranks, so we need Mark to agree to work for us, which means we cannot have a repeat of Chicago". So she's trying to intimidate Invincible, showing him that she could easily kill him, while also not giving him enough of a reason to oppose her and showing that there is indeed a scenario in which Viltrumites fighting does not kill innocent people. Where she miscalculated is threatening Amber so viciously, putting Mark in what was mentally the same position he was in while fighting Omni-man even though she hadn't killed a single person.

mark’s “no” is so powerful, he knows how important denying them is even if it’s just a faulty statement to stop fighting. saying no denies them hope.

I Love how Allen gave her a nose bleed with one punch without even trying. But she straight up no diffed Mark and had him at her mercy. Really goes to show that Zenkai boost is something else with the amount of times Mark has gotten his ass beat he needs one before he can call his invincible😂

I got goosebumps at 3:00. The “No.” as the theme cues in. Mark may still be way out of his league but his bravery and resolve is why he deserves the name Invincible.

Ok this is for non-comic readers : All of the jokes and foreshadowing are about the Viltrumites later going to Earth to start regenerating their race. We discover they have been reduced to mere dozens after being targeted by an artificial virus, and Nolan was there to assess the quality of Human-Viltrumite hybrids, which, given Mark's example, turned out to be what the Viltrumites expected. But Anissa refuses to breed with lowly Humans, so she picks Mark because as a halfie he's the closest to a Viltrumite. And she does that unconsensually.

When I see this scene I can’t stop thinking about how courageous Mark is here and how far he’s come as a Hero since the beginning of him getting his powers. He’s really developed into a great main character, I thought Mark was a weak main character for a bit but I’ve really changed my mind.

The moment where she appeared behind him after hitting him into the air was such a DBZ moment and I love it! Made it seem like she TP'ed behind him, but that's just how fast she is!
