In the comic, when Mark was fighting against one of the Viltrumites, he didn't make any progress at all but in the animated series, he actually learned how to fight against them.

to be fair, in the comics he fight Lucan, and Lucan is a pure raw strenght, the guy hit like a truck and don't go down easy. but int he serie he fight Thula, she is not weak, but Thule if more of a assassin type of fighter, deadly and experienced but less raw strenght

I love Mark's reaction to meeting his father, just at the very least wanting to hug him one last time before he can vent about everything his dad did to him. Steve Yuen really crushed it when it came to delivering those lines as you can feel the rush of emotions in Marks voice, anger, hatred, confusion, betrayal and sadness.

Love how Mark wasn’t too quick to forgive Nolan for the carnage he did back in Earth like he did in the comics, and also it’s good to see Nolan to show more remorse of the horrors he caused and sympathy for the Thraxxans. I love they do Omniman’s redemption arc justice before Season 2 is over

Yeah and it’s kind of strange because Nolan is clearly a seasoned warrorio and even called “the great” by one of the viltrumites, but he still didn’t make sure Lucan was dead? & Since when does Nolan wallow in his victories. Nolan is weirdly the heart and soul of this series, imo. He embodies the complexity, the brutality, the arrogant presumption, the unexpected beauty... and the glory of life itself. He's just so layered. I hope Nolan doesn't die. As much as I like Mark a great deal...Nolan is real reason I love this show. How sick is that???🤦♂️

Mark and Nolan are two sides of the same coin-Mark is very much driven by emotions and his sense of right vs wrong and he struggles with accepting responsibility and submitting to authority (when appropriate), Nolan is bound by his sense of duty and struggles when confronted by his emotions and sense of morality. The real strength of this series over its 15 year run is, imo, the characters learning to find balance.

One of the most noticeable differences between this and the comics is that mark is still, rightfully, VERY PISSED at Nolan. He forgives him in the comics so fast

Yeah I hated that. Like many people felt everyone let Nolan off WAY too easy in the comics and in truth they did. Like that wouldn't work in the show as showing him slaughter thousands on screen can't just be brushed aside with an "I love you dad" scene.

Wow they made big changes. Everything was slightly different, but the biggest thing was that in the comics, mark still had no chance in a 1v1 against one of the other viltrumites even by the end of that fight. Nolan had to keep saving him, but in the show, he learns how to fight them already and ends up being on par with that woman in speed and strength and literally is about to kill her until he hesitates which gets him stabbed

Nah he couldn't have killed her. He's holding her by the Hair and his punch wouldn't have the strength to kill her. Even after getting elbowed with quite some momentum she only lost her jaw, she wasn't decapitated. Mark's punch would have hurt her for sure, but he couldn't have killed her

8:30 Remember when Nolan found out that Mark got his powers, he immediately got serious because it immediately reminded him that his son could be killed because he was too weak, and that he was very aggressive in parts of their training because he had to prepare his son for a test, is he worth living as a Viltrumite, but let's say Mark didn't get his powers, Nolan would be able to protect them more easily because they would just be some civilians he just cares about, and there would be less suspicion that it was his family.

I think it's just the fact that Mark survived a fight against a viltrumite. Mark is atleast as powerful as them. The real question is, why give Mark the position at all? Why not send any other viltrumite that will get the job done?

I love the changes in the show compared to the comic. The show is doing a better job at putting ourselves in the character’s shoes. In the comic, Mark kinda forgives him immediately and isn’t nearly as angry as he is in the show. And Debbie is no where near as fleshed out. I love it here

The only thing is that Nolan didn't go out of his way to kill people when fighting Mark (except for the train scene) in the comics, so he only killed a few hundred people that were collateral damage. While in the show he killed thousands of people on purpose to drive his point home of them being fragile.

To be fair, the viltrumite he was fighting against is not a standard Viltrumite. She is an assassin type. So, she lacks the raw power and durability, making up for it in trickiness

I absolutely love how they handled Mark's reunion with his father in the show. In the comics, they just had him beg his father to come back, but here, they actually take the time to let him be rightfully angry. This would be the first time an adaptation was better than the source material.

Great episode......man....wish my mom was alive to watch this show.....I got into Invincible in 2011 and in 2012 I got my mom into it, she passed that same year.....the comic series ended on my parents' anniversary in 2018....and here we are...three and five years later with Season 1 and half of Season 2 done...a great time to still be breathing. Happy Holidays and a joyous 2024 ppl!

But after having watched the video, yeah for some reason, I didn't enjoy this as much. I mean the episode is still great and I did enjoy it. But a small part of me felt let down. Like I got way more excited in the last episode when Seance Dog showed up

@@doctorstrangethesorcerersu7636 Well for the most part the episode went the way I expected. There are a couple of changes from the comics, but overall the show continues to follow the comics. Also hard to explain why I felt a little disappointed. I just didn't get that hyped or excited as the events of the episode took place. I thought I would be super hyped, but for some reason I wasn't. I don't know why.

Nolan's resistance to Lucan's absolute raw kick proves just how strong he is. If it was done to those three viltrumites, they would have been torn apart. Nolan sure will have broken bones and internal bleeding, but his body literally resisted that absolute show of strength by Lucan. But man, the sound Nolan's body made at that moment was terrifying ngl.

We’ve never seen Mark fight at full strength until this episode. He’s constantly held back so he doesn’t cause collateral damage on earth. Another Crazy thing is that Lucan (Steve Harvey viltrumite) and the other two viltrumites they fought are still alive and will show back up again.

You know the only reason Nolan beat these guys is probably his experience on Earth. Viltrumites are strong but they are too strong they don’t need skill. Nolan held back on earth so he developed hand to hand combat skills. Dodging and grappling The way he threw Vidar to knock down the woman Mark was fighting.

True they just rely on their strength and durability, but Nolan having lived on earth for 20 and learnt hand to hand combat he is more skilled at fighting than viltrumites who lived on viltrum their entire lives.

Whats crazy is how even separated omni mans journey mirrors deb's journey as they travel aimlessly... Her through the city and him flying though space. They both compilated ending their own lives him at the blackhole and her on the bridge. He accepts that he can never go back to earth and she excepts the man she knew as her husband never really existed. tbh he did learn to accept feelings on some vegeta shit lol thinking the earth was a nice place to live and actually grew attached.

Weird how the twins are shown to be so smart but there is such an easy way to tell which one is the clone and which ones the original, since they wake up with the exact same memories the original would remember if he got into the left pod or the right pod, and then when he wakes up he just has to look at which pod hes in 😂😂
