Thank you so much for this very well done, easy to understand, hear and see video. It appears to be the only one showing this technique. I'm so glad you posted it. I would have never figured it out without seeing it up close. Thanks again!

I literally cracked up when you described it as a "death grip" LOL! Seriously, I have a terrible habit of doing that! Thanks for this awesome video!

Great Video, Thank you for sharing this. Wonderful help. I wish I could see it in continental but I think if I sit and practice with the video a few times on scrap yarn I'll see how the position of the needles and yarn will be when I knit

This is great! used it for a great scarf lace yarn silvery on one side and blue on the other really nice and warm!! thanks so much. only did straight double knit stockenette stitch but looks like knit on both sides. I did break down and bought a ring holder to fit on my left index finger (continental style knitter) this helped it go a lot faster and fun.

Lovely video, thanks for sharing ! May I just ask about the typically worked together first and last stitches of any row in the double knitting technique? You don't seem to do them in here but your swatch still looks closed at the edges, how do you manage to get that result? Thanks in advance !

Can this cast-on be used when knitting in the round?
@tishwestman97658 жыл бұрын
I really like this video and the technique to have only one color showing on each side. My question is ... How do you treat first and last stitches of each row so you only see one color on the edges as well?

Have you tried to make a double knitted infinity scarf where you are grafting the cast on and the last row?

How do you incorporate the typical last and first stitch that are knitted with the two colors together? Are they not necessary here? It seems to me that the two sides would not be connected between rows...

I am having the same trouble as kipsnow. Doesn't help that I am also a leftie knitter. I get the correct look when I use the one color (Judy's MCO/Doesn't matter), but Oh, well. Moving on, and thanks for the video!

I seem to have lost a stitch while trying to bring them onto one needle. How do I fix that?
@bellcndle76918 жыл бұрын
I seem to get stuck on locking the yarn in the purl side, also having issues when it comes to purling reverse. some of the purls are not all closed on needle.

I found this to be enlightening and so useful. Well done. BTW I never noticed "dirty fingernails" I was watching the knitting instruction. However, out of curiosity I wondered how bad this was since some one made a comment about it---on viewing the excellent video once again....I will say I still don't have a complaint about anything!!!! The complainer needs therapy.

you say at 3:38 to turn it over again but you didn't - you're holding the locked in yarn with your index finger - watch the red / blue. so purl bumps are facing up when we start to knit? I can't get this to work and wondering if that's it
@lissaplus37 жыл бұрын
I did turn it over. Check it out again.

+Teresa Berry Did you leave the purl yarn to the back and knit the first stitch with the knit yarn and then bring the purl yarn to the back?
@suecat1119 жыл бұрын
Aha... Liam & klpsnow, after having the same problem myself, I believe I know what I missed doing: After casting on, you must turn your work upside down before knitting the first row. Ta da! In that part of the vid, she is both "locking in the st" and turning work upside down before beginning to knit.

Needs to explain in more detail. Don't just show me explain as well. Some terms were just thrown around; please keep in mind that not everyone watching has as much experience knitting and may not be as familiar with some aspects as you are. Otherwise I liked the video, I just had a hard time with some concepts.
