ITV has partnered with disability equality charity, Scope, to launch a campaign centred around invisible disability. 1 in 5 of us are disabled. Just because you can't see a disability, doesn't mean it's not there.

I just saw this on TV, and as someone with an invisible disability, this honestly made me happy to see it being acknowledged on mainstream TV 🙏

Just caught this advert and I’m overjoyed to see ADHD mentioned. I hope it brings more public awareness of a hugely misunderstood disorder.

and hugely misdiagnosed too anyway its 2/3 not 1/3 that beleive in the prejudice of the disabled the statistics are incorrect.

Love this. As someone with Lupus, it’s fabulous that a mainstream channel is promoting such positive awareness. 💜

@NobleGuy the disabilities the effects render can be invisible. Therefore it counts. And rather than being pedantic, you should be encouraged that these conditions are being shared more widely

@NobleGuy because there are people in this world who actually care about others

As a person with ADHD- my finest talent is my biggest downfall...And that would be appearing absolutely fine. Better than fine, infact. as a social coping mechanism, I am inspirationally strong, funny, confident and friendly. What they don't know is, I have hypersensitivity. Similarly to those with autism; sound, lights, smells and touch can be "mental torture". I have the worst short term memory- I can't fill out paperwork by myself or even understand how taxes work! Since diagnosis at 36, I have no shame about any of this. I have a learning disability, and I've had to make my peace with it. Instead, I play the hand I was dealt- and always to my strengths 🧡💖

I know the feeling of being "robbed" all too well, im 30, and i was sick from 15 to my early/mid twenties, illness robbed me of my "best years" but! im making up for it now! Doing all the crazy stuff i never got to do as a normal teenager!

Don't mention scope to me, believe me they just don't want to know about disabled folk's problems, not if you have the "wrong kind" of disabilities. How can they call themselves an "equality" charity?! WHAT equality? In my long hard and BRUTAL experience there's absolutely NO SUCH THING, not here in the UK, NO chance, in my experience all there is is EXclusion to the MAXIMUM and what do the likes of scope do about it? absolutely NOTHING!
