You have to be careful when it comes to tackling the climate crisis. We rely heavily on the industries that contribute the most to it, so if we start messing with them then it could lead to lost jobs, less industry, and more reliance on foreign gas/oil which would damage our economy even further.

That's like buying a pasture of horses as the first cars come to market. You're not going to see a big enough roi to make that investment worthwhile, and you could use that money to invest in the infrastructure for the new industry. It's so basic, I'm not sure he should be called a professional. I would like to see incentives given to current oil and gas companies to get them to orient their infrastructure and operations to renewable/clean energy production, and even better incentives to new energy companies dedicated to clean energy. We all have to work together.

All this is because natural gas is important to the economy. Those people in Texas don’t care cause that’s how they make life. WHAT BIDEN SHOULD DO IS: Sign an executive order that gives those workers protection & free education to get certified in the clean energy way the Federal Gov’t is asking for. Pay for their certifications & put a 10 year period to get free training in skills that will be needed at new clean energy plants.

Natural gas would be a perfect Transition fuel towards renewables.

I am an engineer in the industry living in Midland, TX. This video is very misleading, idk if it’s intentional or a lack of understanding. We are bottlenecked by lack of pipeline capacity. When they say we have no one to sell to it is midstream companies that transport via pipeline to refineries. they don’t have capacity so they can not buy it. If you’re wondering why there is no capacity think about what just happened to the keystone. It’s NOT because there are not customers for the end product. We can’t control the amount of gas that is extracted along with oil. I would also point out that when gas is flared (or burned in your home for energy) it burns relatively clean. They showed an infrared image of a flare like it was representative of methane leaking when in reality all it was showing was the heat. This might not matter to anyone reading this because you might think “it doesn’t matter we can just use renewables” I’m sorry but that is simply not true. At this point in time we do not have the technology to create electric semi trucks for transporting essentials like food or airplanes. Electric cars are still very expensive and many people cannot afford them not to mention they can be inconvenient for long trips. Even if none of that true we wouldn’t be able to create enough reliable power without nuclear which comes with its own problems and would probably take a few decades to replace fossil fuels. Banning drilling or fracking in the US would not change demand. Energy prices would go up and it would be the poor that would suffer the most. We would just end up just importing from countries like Saudi Arabia instead.
