EOD technician Tech. Sgt. Ferrell received treatment for Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD), Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI) and chronic pain at the National Intrepid Center of Excellence (NICoE) at Walter Reed National Military Medical Center in Bethesda, Maryland, a treatment center that is the model for the U.S. Air Force's Invisible Wounds clinic which will open at Eglin AFB, Florida in 2018.
