Quite often Mormons are misunderstood or a mystery to most of us outsiders. Join me in an enlightening conversation as we talk about relationships, what they value, what they fear, and how they see the rest of America. A truly eye-opening experience.

Truth is your own experience, your own vision. Even if I have seen the truth and I tell you, the moment I tell you it will become a lie for you, not a truth. For me it was truth, for me it came through the eyes. It was my vision. For you, it will not be your vision, it will be a borrowed thing. It will be a belief, it will be knowledge--not knowing. And if you start believing in it, you will be believing a lie. Osho

We come into the world absolutely pure and innocent, absolutely clear, clean, but then the world starts writing on our consciousness, it starts conditioning us. It pollutes everybody, it contaminates, poisons. By the time a child is mature enough to think on his own the world has already destroyed him. He is already crippled, paralysed; the world has already taught him to use crutches and he has forgotten to use his own insight. He cannot stand on his own two legs; it has made him dependent. This is is the greatest conspiracy against humanity, to make every human being a cripple - not physically but spiritually. And the strategy that is used is to give you a mind so that your consciousness becomes covered with thoughts, desires, ambitions, Ego, ideologies, religion, politics, and a thousand and one things are there, layer upon layer. Your mirror-like consciousness disappears and then a man lives a life of indignity, a life which is absolutely graceless, a life of blindness, a life of utter dependency. And the only thing to be done is to undo whatsoever the society is done to you. So I don't teach purity, I don't teach morality - that is all nonsense. I only teach meditation so you can rid of the mind. The mind belongs to society and mediation belongs to you. With mediation you are absolutely free, and suddenly you start discovering your intrinsic treasures. And then begins a pilgrimage of joys, beauty, songs, celebrations. And it is an unending process. It gives you the vision of eternity. It gives you the certainty that you are immortal. Osho

Spiritual Dependence My approach to your growth is basically to make you independent of me. Any kind of dependence is slavery, and the spiritual dependence is the worst slavery of all. I have been making every effort to make you aware of your individuality, your freedom, your absolute capacity to grow without any help from anybody. Your growth is something intrinsic to your being. It does not come from outside; it is not an imposition, it is an unfolding. All the meditation techniques that I have given to you are not dependent on me ― my presence or absence will not make any difference ― they are dependent on you. It is not my presence, but your presence that is needed for them to work. It is not my being here but your being here, your being in the present, your being alert and aware that is going to help. The whole past of man is, in different ways, a history of exploitation. And even the so-called spiritual people could not resist the temptation to exploit. Out of a hundred masters, ninety-nine percent were trying to impose the idea that, "Without me you cannot grow, no progress is possible. Give me your whole responsibility." But the moment you give your whole responsibility to somebody, unknowingly you are also giving your whole freedom. And naturally, all those masters had to die one day, but they have left long lines of slaves: Christians, Jews, Hindus, Mohammedans. What are these people? Why should somebody be a Christian? If you can be someone, be a Christ, never be a Christian. Are you absolutely blind to the humiliation when you call yourself a Christian, a follower of someone who died two thousand years ago? The whole of humanity is following the dead. Is it not weird that the living should follow the dead, that the living should be dominated by the dead, that the living should depend on the dead and their promises that `We will be coming to save you.´? None of them has come to save you. In fact, nobody can save anybody else; it goes against the foundational truth of freedom and individuality. As far as I am concerned, I am simply making every effort to make you free from everybody ― including me ― and to just be alone on the path of searching. Osho

So sad these mormons are so deceived. I truly believe they think that their doing the right thing and that they have good intentions. It's truly a cult, but a very wealthy cult with power and influence. Their beliefs contradict the Holy Bible, If you dig deep into their beliefs, you will find they truly believe they can become gods, which is the same lie Satan told eve in the garden Gen:3. I can go on and on. Sadly their doing a disservice to Peter saying he's a child of God is such a lie, Peter doesn't even believe Jesus is the Son of God, God in flesh. If you read 1John, you have children of God and Children of the devil. and all unbelievers are children of Satan. So Mormons are children of the devil, because they do the works of MEN, not the works of Jesus Christ, true faith is obedience to Jesus Christ, Hebrews 5:9. I pray for Peter and these mormons that they come to Salvation through the True Jesus Christ, not the false christ of the mormon church.

What I like best about this channel is how many of the married women featured here aren't even faithful to their own spouse. From the start, Jennifer was literally flirting with Peter and then at 54:27, she GAZED at him and then HUGGED him for almost five seconds until 54:32. Why do Gen X guys let their wife hug other men? If your wife loved you, then she wouldn't hug other guys at all

I’ve lived in South Jordan, Taylorsville and now Midvale. Maybe it’s my choices but so far most are anti social, rude and love gossip. I’ve lost tw friend groups because some talked about a person while not around. I told that person to go tell them, not me. Both times I heard from NO ONE from either group again. Meaning they probably told the person I was the one saying something to cover their tracks. Non violent? Yea. But welcoming? No. I say morning to ppl walking and I get nothing or a shocked look. I was skating down a back road, first week here. A woman drives right next time to me. No horn, no slow down, nothing. I could touch her if her window was down. It shocked me and made me loose balance and fall. A skid about 30/40 feet downhill. She just kept driving. Weird how it’s a truly 180 from some ppl.

Yes, some people talk about it like it's in case of an apocalypse kind of thing, but the teachings are just that it's wise to be prepared. For myself, I didn't really have a 1 year or 2 year storage, but just having the mentality of having things on hand, buying in bulk (as long as you'll use it), & having a savings account -- that's just how I was raised. So that's what I did when I was living on my own. It was super helpful when I was laid off from my job. I had plenty of food in my pantry & general grocery items that I was grateful to have, as well as money in my savings account & no debt, so I wasn't as stressed out while looking for another job. I knew I could still pay my rent, I'd have food to eat, I could still buy some fresh foods within reason. (I just bought whatever produce was the least expensive & skipped pricier items, like cheese.) I knew everything would be ok. I also had the benefit of knowing I could ask my Bishop or my family if I needed help with food, but I'm happy that I didn't need to do that, because I was prepared. It's one of the many ways the gospel has brought peace to my life.

Don’t know how anyone could call themselves catholic. The church is corrupt, full of perverse scandals. The Vatican itself is a disgrace… even going back to its inception it was a tyrannical government disguised as THE religious organization. Not allowing people to read the Bible by themselves, burning those they suspected to be aligned with the devil etc… to current day pedophilia that gets swept under the rug constantly. - You’d have to be turning a blind eye to these things that should otherwise have a sensible person with moral integrity denounce all affiliation with the Catholic Church.

My mom's side of the family is Jewish but she joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints when I was a kid. I appreciated the Sister that said she loves the Jewish people and you are right about us getting nervous when a camera comes out. I was in church one Sunday and approached some protesters outside of our building. They were very critical and mean especially when they saw my Star of David necklace that I was wearing. I live in Texas and am ever so thankful that I ran into the missionaries. I ran into them and we were trying to solve an issue with some baby kittens in the mail room at our apartments. They had badges in Spanish and I had no idea what they said, but I asked them lots of questions over months. They were the ONLY people who were able to answer all my questions and I have been a livelong seeker of the scriptures. I could type so so so much more but will stop and finish the video, but just wanted to give a shout out to all missionaries who take time out to answer questions from true seekers of Christ followers. I listened and didn't have any preconceived prejudice about them. I am also single and didn't have to convince anyone else to think about anything. I love the weekly communion even though I am usually late, I love the daily study of scriptures, and now all the podcasts that unpack the scriptures. Last year I read the Old Testament word for word and in a month I will have done the New Testament word for word (I have done both many many times) and with discussions about it every other week. I love the worshipful music, the modest dress, the going home after church to rest and eat and not making a waitress or waiter work on Sunday serving me,.I just love the way my life is. I was always in church before and very active but all around me I saw young people in my church all the churches I went to that had issues with drinking and sleeping around and not reading scriptures, prayer was a gossip or bragging session, only those who were rich or friend with someone important got to do leadership roles. Something was always missing. I wanted to focus to be on studying to be more Christ-like and all I found was rock concerts, I felt like I was in a movie theater and a dressing contest. Here, I feel like I am in a holy place of reverence, and worship and learning and sincere study.

My answer from God was to join, I was released, and after getting off parole, I served a full-time mission in Brazil. 22 years later I have a wonderful family and have beaten the odds with Jesus Christ as my Savior. *10 years of rehabs, group homes, and other treatments could not help me with my problems, only the restored gospel of Jesus Christ could. Hopefully Peter has a video that has a bit more of reality in it, because these last two have been full of some lies. If he fails to, do yourself a favor and do your own research. Like the fact that they do still believe in polygamy, just in the afterlife. Funny how they didn’t mention that. They do baptism for the dead. So don’t worry if you don’t accept their religion in this life they’ll just wait until you die and then they’ll baptize your spirit. Look up the stories about how they did that too holocaust victims. Yeah that’s how much they love the Jewish people. Or how about how Joseph Smith started polygamy behind his wife’s back, and she was never OK with it. Or that he married, teenage girls and married women who had other husbands. You can actually read about this on their own website. There’s nothing worse than an ex Mormon with all the tea to spill. Isn’t that right, Gwen? Oh, and by the way, if you want to see some really crazy shit, their secret temple (wacky) rituals have been secretly recorded and you can find them on KZfaq. As a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of LatterDay Saints, my favorite part of this video is the discussion of callings near the end - this is such a true part of our day-to-day lives that a lot of people don’t think of. I play piano for church and my husband and I teach seminary (Bible study) to high school kids at our house at 6am every school day, on top of our full time jobs and parenting our own teens. It’s joyful but it’s busy. At 5:45am each day I think - I hate my calling, and by 6:45am I think - I love my calling. Waking up is hard but the kids are great.

The Book Of Mormon musical pokes fun at a lot of aspect of the religion but within the show, rightfully so, but the two missionaries in the play are kind, earnest, and doing their best to be a positive force in the world which is a pretty good depiction of the people within the religion. If you apply Mathew's 'You Will Know Them by Their Fruits' concept applied to Mormon's you'll understand that the musical has a pretty positive message about Mormon's as people basted on the character of the 2 missionaries in the play....And the best part is the Mormon's put out an advertisement for their religion in the musicals pamphlet showing that the leaders of the religion have class and character as well. Imagine if it was 'The book of Islam' instead of 'The Book of Mormon' we would see a very different kind of fruit on display. So while Mormons are ridiculed for their absurd beliefs everyone respects them for the fruits of their labor.

@@PennyDavis-cm9tl Actually, we were neighbors, however I moved 650 miles away. They helped me pack and, instead of having to rent a moving van, they loaded my belongings into a trailer, drove with me to my new home, unloaded, unpacked, and helped me move in. They refused any money for gas, and, as they were leaving we all burst into tears because we wouldn't be able to see each other as often. After they left, I discovered that they had also unloaded 5 large plastic containers and left them. When I opened them, I discovered that they'd packed brand new towels, soap, cleaning supplies in one container. There were 3 containers of food, and the last container was filled with heirloom seeds (of many varieties), as well as 5 different kinds of seed potatoes. So I'm not quite sure if you meant your question to be snarky or serious, however, they gave me enough food for several months, but the heirloom seeds were planted every year since I've lived here, food has been harvested, and seeds preserved for next year...so they've given me enough to provide food for the rest of my life. But our friendship is not about how much food they gave me. They are family to me and we love and support each other despite the differences in our beliefs.

I grew up LDS. I’m also a solo traveler throughout the world. What amazes me the most is if I ever feel isolated or alone or unsafe in any state, country, wherever, I can always find a church building anywhere close nearby with my people. That’s why I’ve never felt alone for any long period of time. The community is priceless. Whenever the people become unhinged around me and start robbing, lying, and are becoming severely polarized, etc… I know I always have a home I can visit for a break and regain my peace and stillness in the church and it’s beautiful people. I’m very glad I grew up in a strong culture environment than a vulture environment. I think that’s something a great deal of liberal states envy.

I've grown up in Southwest Idaho where Mormons make up a large portion of the population. Over the decades I've worked with Mormons and have been friends with many. In high school I even went out on dates with a couple of them. These videos have been very informative for even someone such as myself that has grown up around Mormons. When my parents migrated to to Idaho in the 1960's they were befriended by a a wonderful lady that belonged to the Reorganized Church of the LDS that had only two small churches in the area. She helped my mother, who spoke limited English, learn how to can food, sew clothes and would bring vegetables from her family farm to our home. To this day, everyone in my family continues to hold this lady in high esteem because of her generosity and unconditional friendship. Interestingly, this lady's husband was a member of a local LDS church. They had several children, however, I can't recall if they went to the mother's or father's church, or even if they went to church regularly. One thing I have noticed is that many of Mormons are very successful business owners. This isn't meant as a criticism, but I wonder if they search each other out when doing business with others. The reason I say this is because one real estate agent I know commented that he had a large inventory of real estate to sell and added "It's doesn't hurt to be Mormon."

I have truly enjoyed getting to know everyone in the community. I live in Las Vegas and was looking to work in a smaller more tight knit community as a nurse. My daughter recently moved to St George Utah to go to the University and lives in a “ Mormon standards” apartment shared with all LDS girls. We are not LDS but have thoroughly enjoyed the kindness and openness that the LDS community has given us. I will also tell you that I was a bit surprised by this at first.I had a cousin who married into the LDS community years ago and he stopped communicating with us because we were not Mormon. I haven’t spoken to him in almost 20 plus years and even tried reaching out. Im not sure if there is an old version and a new version LDS way. I also have an old high school friend who is now gay and has lost all contact with his family due to his new lifestyle. He is no longer LDS. So, I have seen both sides. I know LDS people that I work with Family is everything. I believe many people today are missing that family structure. I still take away a positive view from the LDS people that I have come across and enjoyed this video.

Sadly there are some people in the LDS faith who do not know how to maintain relationships with those that have left or strayed. But it is 1000% not our belief to shun. We believe in following Christ's example - and he ate and hung around everybody. However sometimes we will be selective about who we date and have close friendships with because we want good influences in our day to day lives and less temptation. Overall though, shunning is not a belief we hold. It's unfortunate when someone chooses that route. It should be the opposite.

I've had difficult experiences with some members of the church, but most have been uplifting and hopeful to be around and enjoy. I really do believe most try to follow Christ's example in following his counsel to love our neighbor. My daughter has made some huge changes in her personal choices and preferences. We have tried to maintain our love for each other even at times when she rejected us and kept us at arms length. Its been very hard to watch her struggle. When she was about 12 she had some acquaintences who told her beause we were LDS that we would shun, hate and probably kick her out of the house. She accepted that as truth. It was a very difficult two years before she understood that our love never changed. There were time we thought we'd lost her. I wish she was doing some thing differently in her life, but that doesn't affect my love for her. I pray that you will be able to find those bright spots in life and maintain and restore the bonds of love in your family.

Why are you not allowed to ask your prophet questions concerning “their accuracy” Ask these and see if you won’t get ex-communicated: 1. Why does the Mormon Church still teach that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God after he made a false prophecy about a temple being built in Missouri in his generation (Doctrine and Covenants 84:1-5)? 2. Since the time when Brigham Young taught that both the moon and the sun were inhabited by people, has the Mormon Church ever found scientific evidence of that to be true (Journal of Discourses, 1870, v.13, p.271)? 3. Why did Brigham Young teach that Adam is “our Father and our God” when both the Bible and the Book of Mormon (Mormon 9:12) say that Adam is a creation of God (Journal of Discourses, Apr. 9, 1852, vol.1, p.50)? 4. If Brigham Young was a true prophet, how come one of your later prophets overturned his declaration which stated that the black man could never hold the priesthood in the LDS Church until after the resurrection of all other races (Journal of Discourses, Dec. 12, 1854, 2:142-143)? 5. Since the Bible’s test to determine whether someone is a true prophet of God is 100% accuracy in all his prophecies (Deuteronomy 18:20-22), has the LDS Church ever reconsidered its teaching that Joseph Smith and Brigham Young were true prophets? 6. Since the current LDS prophets sometimes contradict the former ones, how do you decide which one is correct? 7. Since there are several different contradictory accounts of Joseph Smith’s first vision, how did the LDS Church choose the correct one? 8. Can you show me in the Bible the LDS teaching that we must all stand before Joseph Smith on the Day of Judgment?

Sorry dude I didn't even turn the sound on. Neighbors a sleep. But like I live on Utah. I get all this sugar and surip stuff. But hey that's not real. You can fool some of the people all of the time. But you can't fool all the people all of the time. So chill.

I'm from Utah county originally and I am ASHAMED that so many people there support the criminal Trump. It's absolutely appalling! My grandpa owned the grocery stores in Spanish Fork and Payson in the 50's and 60's. He's rolling over in his grave over this travesty of ethics!

I disagree. A fairly typical LDS family would reside in California. Utah Mormons are just a little different.

I’m not active in the church for a long time, but I listen still the teachings. I’m not the best. I live in the world now. Food storage saved me during the pandemic. I didn’t worry about it. I learned to save some food. I moved away and live in SC and Im starting over again. This time I get to teach my roommate how important it is.

Not all of their teaching are good. Many can be, though. But don't let the facade fool you. Many of the most unstable people I know are Mormon and have never once strayed from the church or it's teachings.

@@PanthraxIVare you meaning that no Catholics or Jews or Muslims or Pentacostals or Baptists or atheists are unstable? Just because Mormons are held to the highest standards does not mean they are unstable. Much of the instability some face comes from incorrect doctrinal understandings as well as a lack of ability to forgive themselves and others. The gospel has been the only source of stability in my life and it is for many others I know. Don’t judge the many by the few.

Amazing video series. I am a recent transplant to Utah... I'm not religious (never have been), but I appreciate religion. I am blown away by how kind, neighborly, and accepting the Mormons are I have met throughout my life. The bigotry directed at Mormons, particularly from the Left, is astounding, particularly when considering what behavior and groups of people the Left often accepts without question. This series has been fantastic.

I'm not an LDS person (I'm a non-denominational Christian) but even I'll admit this was a pleasant watch. I was impressed with their prayer life and understanding of parts of scripture in the Bible. Also their willingness to share their relative simplicity of life

I grew up non denominational on a city reservation we call a colony, later was converted to mormonism for a few years for the nice community but the teachings are off the wall. Finally found complete truth from @RealBibleBelievers channel and its been life changing. Dr Gene Kim is the young Korean pastor, grad from Berkley who uses dispenstionalism to rightly divide the word. His content is great
