This is my review of the ION Color Brilliance Demi Permanent Hair Color 9NA (Very Light Ash Blonde). In this demo and review I'll show you how to use Ammonia Free hair dye for toning bleached, brassy, yellow, or blonde hair at home and will give you my honest opinion of the final results.

So I did exactly what she did in the video because my hair looked orange/yellow and it just looked terrible on me so I tried this and it worked! I used the 10na though but I did exactly what she did and I left it for 25 minutes. My hair looks ashy now or more like a honey color but it definitely looks a lot better than the orange and yellow hair that I had. So glad that I came across this video. :)

Mixing ratio for that is 1:1 not 1:2 so you’ve diluted the actual color a bit.... if your trying it again mix 1:1. And demi is designed to deposit color, it does not lift. I didn’t hear what level you used but with an ash you can put a a half to 1 level lighter then your blonde level. So you get the toning effect and doesn’t appear like it is darker. 😉😉

I rarely ever comment, but I watched your Wella Demi-Permanent video and thought it was sooooo helpful! Most people just seem to review the permanent Wella T18 or T11 and a couple others! I remember you said you planned to review this product in your video so here I am!! Came upon your videos after trying to color correct a head full of lots of yellow/brassy highlights! Purchased the Wella Demi-Permanent 10NA after watching your video & still figuring out what to do! Ha! Will probably use it today! Thanks for the helpful videos!

Christy Lyn - It did work out!!!! I’m pleased! Left my hair a little dry, but that’s to be expected since my hair has gone through the ringer lately!! Deep conditioning & protein treatments, as well as laying off the heat is helping!! Thanks again!!! 💛

Ash pulls very green on my hair too. I stay on the warmer side & neutral.

I don’t know why it pulls so green! It must be because we have a lot of red naturally in our hair or something 🤣 Do you use a toner or just dye? Any recommended brands?

Very helpful! I have one each of demi permanent 8N and 8A. What about mixing half and half to get 8NA? I'm wanting to tone out some brassiness. Thank you 😊

So, I have been using ION demi color 10 A with 10 volume developer for years. It does lift the cuticle and the color is permanent on my hair. I would get roots and I'm not sure why. Even using 10 A, it would go a bit yelowie orange. I didn't like that. I have no idea why. Would it work to add a bit of toner to the ION 10 A and apply them together?

I’d be nervous to mix toner with dye. Not sure how that would turn out. Maybe try one of IONs semi permanent dyes? They don’t use developer so no lift at all

You can add toner with color, mix it with the color and developer and add to hair.

The ION demi-permanent won't make the dark hair lighter, it just lifts up the blond, that is it. There is one hairstylist in CA, she has a youtube channel, she is specialized in blond hair and she explained about this.

If you do t want all over color you need to tone it instead of added color to it.

Demi-permanent doesn't lift, it only deposits. You probably just perceive it as lighter because it's slightly cooler in tone.

Roots and grow out have to be colored different than the rest of your hair, so no one color can work in one application
