I was really satisfied with the SE like over my expectations but did you start lagging when iphone X,8 and 8+ was released?

I'll always keep saying that the SE is the best, but that said iOS11 slowed mine down, I'm kind of questioning why I updated 🤷‍♀️

fetchstix there's still a chance of downgrading the iOS in the course of 30 days but I'm not sure if apple decreases the performance of devices on new devices being released or mine just randomly and *coincidentally* ? got slower?

I haven't updated my iPhone SE. It still runs 10.3.3 and I'm really happy with it. No lags right now, in fact, it is smoother and faster after the 10.3.3 update. I got storage space of 61gb, battery charges faster. Everything is great right now. No complains.

Alex Sitay check your iOS version. If it’s 15A372 then you actually have the original non-beta version and you won’t get an update because it is the latest one.

MajinVaughn yeah, 6S does have 3D Touch on it's sleeve but I personally think SE is faster because it has the same internals and if you consider the fact that 6S has a bigger screen so it has to push more pixels but overall SE is not old and shouldn't be put amongst the 5S and 6 category!

Iphones dont offer much but they do a good job at what they do. I use my phone all day and id be bored out of my mind with ios. Theres nothing to learn like iphones are so basic i cant take it. I love learning new things about my phome and i cant do that without an android phone. Iphones you get what you buy theres not much else you can do like there is on android

Same here, the rest are smoother on ios11 except 3D touch on apps, also i notice the haptic feedback are difference vibration when you 3d touch the shortcut apps on Control Centre(Peek feedback) vs Home Screen app(Pop feedback)

Its simple to explain. Apple does not intentionally slow down older iphone models VIA new OS versions, well, intentionally that is. Think of it like a computer, or anything else that has hardware and software. At the time of conception, the software was made to utilize the hardware of the flagship device (say a 5S). Now, IOS 11 is being produced for the new iphone 8 and Iphone x, and considering their specs during conception. These devices are obviously considerably faster than the old 5S. So, by upgrading an old 5S to a software that should be ran on a modern phone that is considerably faster will then see lag due to the hardware not being able to keep up in a sense, its not fast enough. You also have to consider the fact that app developers also consider this, they consider the fact that most people will be running modern-ish phones and typically if you're running, say, IOS 11, your phone is probably within 2 years old, and more than likely new, so they can also develop their app to utilize that particular hardware for that particular software, which is also why certain apps will lag, things will run slower, and everything just feels 'slow' after upgrading if you own an older phone. This is also why you may see app support be more limited if you don't update, due to the fact that keeping up with an app on a software that is 3-4+ years old just isn't feasible, the tech is simply outdated, the hardware cannot keep up with modern standards, OR, they simply don't have the time/money to try to support a small portion of their users and probably don't want to limit their platform. Apple can't really focus on every phone and every software for every phone, and simply put, while they may know it will slow down your phone if you update, If apple were to restrict the update options so you wouldn't 'lose' performance, then they'd really be trying to force you to buy new iphones, but they at-least allow you to upgrade, at the loss of speed for functionality. Again though, even this isn't apples fault, software developers may not want to support old devices, some software developers are small, different developers have different goals, and apple cannot align themselves with all of them, but they can ensure that all the apps will be on the latest OS. This is why upgrading is to a new OS isn't always the smartest idea depending on your phone and why its optional. I also would like to add that, phones can and eventually will slow down on the hardware side of things, meaning even IF you didn't update your OS and it was just like a flagship when you bought it, it'd still be slower than whenever you bought it, so you couple this with new higher demanding software and your phone will surely feel slow.

I don´t think so, because many people want small phone... that´s why apple made something as comeback with SE... For me is the best phone ever made by apple... Nice and classic design with newest hardware... And 5s was selling since 2012 until now in my country...

its not exactly slow, but if you guys want accuracy to how slow I would say 5% slower. ALSO ios 11 will be very laggy in terms of animations like app switcher. The only reasons to update: recording mode and control centre. Everything else is not worth the buggyness. I updated to ios 11 on SE, going back to ios 10. Its not that slow like i said, its just I really enjoyed my SE with out ANY animation lag on ios 10.
