One thing I haven’t seen anyone mention yet is the live video for emergency sos that is in the iOS 18 page. I can see this feature being a huge help for people who are in areas that it will take first responders a fair amount of time to be able to get to, to be able to take action to ensure they’ll still be around when the paramedics do arrive

Scheduling messages is easier to do when sending to other iPhones because those messages are sent through Apple's servers. RCS and SMS are send directly through your phone using your cellular provider. When you schedule the message, you send it to Apple servers (encrypted) and then Apple's servers send it out at the scheduled time. With SMS, your phone has to be the one to hold onto the message and send it out because it is the one with access to the SIM and the keys contained therein. If you turned off your phone or your phone didn't have service, the scheduled SMS wouldn't send, which is just a bad experience and would make people mad at Apple because the scheduled send feature was "broken."

Unpopular opinion: this year's update for iOS 18 & iPadOS 18 still meh which they still don't fix the core problem for proper multitasking with a dedicated API which makes the app doesn't paused or restarted especially for iOS devices which already have 8GB of RAM, still lacks of clipboard history, eject from software, etc.

Gosh this is why I love lOS more and more. It's the little details. App icons look so much cleaner without the text. Also so happy I don't have download weird third party scientific calculator apps that have a bunch of Ads. Sometimes I need to multiply large numbers by fractions or decimals and like to see the whole equation as I’m punching in number so I don’t lose my place. Sometimes in notes I write equations with variables for my finances so I love that now when you write an equation with a variable and put an equals sign now it just gives you an answer

The animation on button pushing is made with the iPhone 16 in mind, since it's losing the hardware buttons, so they're trying to enhance the feeling of buttons.

The Passwords app has been on Windows for at least a year or two now through iCloud for Windows. The difference is all the native Apple OS are catching up and splitting it into it’s own app.

I uninstalled 18 Beta from my 15 Pro….at first I didn’t really see any bugs at all but then I happened to check the storage on my phone and it was using 77gb of system data. Apparently it’s piling up cache and all that in the background. I got some storage back after restarting but it quickly used the storage again….so keep an eye on your storage if trying the Beta. If your storage maxes out it’ll fuck your phone up

Apple ruined the home app when they changed the way it controlled the lights. Originally I used to be able to tap an icon for a light and it would turn on or off. A long press opened up the dimmer. Now it goes straight to the dimmer and won't just turn the light on or off. That's when I stopped using it.

No text on the apps and them being bigger is great but there is more room under last rom and it just looks so strange, they should add another row of apps. Wont be using it until they do, just cant handle all that empty space looking so weird 😖.

Funny you mentioned the Password Manager. That's exactly what helped me make the jump to Android 😂. Because of Google's Password Manager where I was able to port all my passwords over in one shot.

Keynote-wise, I only liked the Calculator app and its integration with MathNotes. For the the iPad. Didn't care about any iPhone version. I like using a stylus on any iPad over not having one on an iPhone. I always enjoy watching stuff about Macs; I have more Macs than I know what to do with. Your call on "Apple Intelligence" was brilliantly prophetic. AI is certainly intriguing.

There was already an apple password app for windows, so they seem to just be keeping that up to date. AS THEY SHOULD. But it's likely the website didn't get it because they just didn't have any base to build off of there.

Some tips for your channel. I’ve been following you for many years and your quality has improved however your subscriber count as far as I noticed is plateauing. 1. Short notice that a skit is incoming („short skit“) because first time watchers (Fiwa) can be confused as to what the video is about and could leave after 5 sec. 2. Quick intro what your channel is about: „Hey, I’m Drew from Tailosive Tech and in my videos I update you on the latest tech and give my opinion as a laymen wether the tech is general useful and/or useful for you. Now let’s get to the video.“ Now you play your intro sequence. I think this better gives an overview to Fiwa as to what is happening and informs the watcher what they can expect from you and your channel. Lastly repeating a formula with your name and the channels name should help with recognition.

I think that the send later feature is limited to iMessage only because it’s a server service If it was possible for SMS, the device had to be connected to network when the message was due to send, while on iMessage it can be sent to apple’s server, and executed at the desired time regardless of whether the device is connected to the internet or not

Schedule sending is only on iMessage because in the event your iPhone dies the message is saved on iCloud so that it could be sent. Otherwise if you have an important messenge that needs to be sent and you schedule it and then your iPhone dies it can’t send that message due to it being sms and that could cause someone to lose their job or forget a medication or surgery and possibly even kill someone and that would be blamed on apple for not sending the message!
