You should also mention how the calculator app now works like a propper scientific calculator. You can type out entire functions and it will keep a history of those functions. This for me is probably better than math notes on the iPhone. Using the calculator app used to be painful, it wouldn't display and special opporators and you kind of just had to remember what buttons you pressed otherwise you'd get an answer that is completely different to what you would be expecting. Im an engineering student and when I'm in class I sometimes don't even bother using my stand-alone calculator, instead reaching for my iPhone and so far the answers its giving have been reliable!

Hey MKBHD, this si probably nothing interesting for most viewers here, but for those of us who use two different keyboards for two different language that use the same character set (like Latin characters for English and Czech) we don’t now have to switch between different keyboards anymore. We have one single keyboard for typing in both English and Czech and it suggest both Czech and English words for autocorrect. This si huge quality of life improvement in iOS 18!

One of the best features come with this update is Vehicle Motion Cues. I have motion sickness while using my phone in a moving vehicle. Since I activate the motion cues, my sickness completely gone. Like not reduced, gone. Waaay underrated feature.

@@pedrogriffin1934 you don't need to do a thing. Cues are moving to the opposite way of your vehicle moves and that helps matching what your inner ear senses with what you see. It happens naturally.

Why would you ever text a picture? Just text a sharable link, the quality is so much higher and doesn't rely on everyone having the same app. A sharable link works with EVERYONE.

I found today that while listening to music on my AirPods, I was able to record video and my music didn’t stop. Upon watching back, it’s picking up all the audio as per normal. That’s a great feature. Normally it stops the music when you shoot video

The beam width makes a pretty huge difference if you’re walking down a dark path at night with no other light source. I was astounded by how far the light went when you narrowed it down all the way.

Making it easier to switch and connect to BT devices. Adjust where they are on the list so your favorite speaker isn’t at the bottom, getting rid of the obnoxious loading when changing your mind after clicking the wrong device and putting the whole list itself on the control center without needing to click and slide the screen 5 times.

Not gonna lie the hotspot add in to the control center will be really nice. I did not hear you mention that it was not in the older IOS and I always have to go manually turn it on and off to auto connect to other devices. I think that is a big change I will LOVE lol due to having kids lol

For me, the #1 feature has been iPhone Mirroring. It's been a game changer at work. I keep my phone on the wireless charger at the back of my desk but can still use it fully from my Mac. I can use all my apps and I get notifications through on the Mac too. Only issue right now is that the phone gets quite warm when using it.

Also who would have thought that PS5 games can be played on phone, oh you only have PS2-PS4 emulators, rest asure, you will get the full PS5 games after PS6 too.. 😂 they just have diffetent preference where they are focus.. like to give you better than 12MP images with more than 12MP camera lens etc.. but maybe when 300MP lens will be in Android, they also can offer you a better than 12MP default image (all raw camera app images required some after work since it's missing things like HDR filter or something other important filter what default images have..)

The new Password app being in the top 5 is why I love this channel for updates. He doesn’t even use the app but was still able to recognize how nice of a feature this is. As someone who uses Apple’s password manager, I’ve been really looking forward to a dedicated app.

Theory on the beam width… in the photography world, we have camera flashes that have “zoomable” heads, aka you can change how narrow or wide the flash goes when taking a photo. Could we maybe see an optical flash system on a Pro camera that changes the beam width of the light? Because THAT would be freaking cool

Marquez had the default pages and said he would never use them. If they were not customizable, most people would find them useless and that would be a downgrade for people like me who used lots of control center toggles. I wouldn’t have enough space for everything I had in ios17 if I could only customize the first page. The ability to fully customize multiple pages actually makes this a very very good upgrade. I can have a whole page for smart home controls and a page for commonly used controls and apps and scenes I use when watching tv

Ngl, the basic calculator updates were so exciting. Being able to see my calculation history, edit equations without completely clearing stuff out, the single digit backspace, etc. haven’t even moved over to the math notes and scientific calculator.
