iOS and macOS Management - How to setup Apple Business Manager with Intune

Episode 2 - For this second episode I take you through setting up Apple Business Manager with Intune. This includes creating the MDM push certificate and MDM server to connect and sync the two platforms together. I Finish off with assigning an iOS device within ABM and syncing this with Intune.
This is an important step when looking to manager your iOS/iPadOS or macOS devices for your enterprise.

Really great video! Thank you! Could you do a video about migrating a shared device into Intune and how device based licensing works with this? From my understanding, the device would basically need to be wiped, put through auto-pilot self deploying then configured as a shared device. But I was told this would cause issues with domain join or AD Join.

Thank you, this helped me with my setup! One question though, I am a MSP and I have about 30 clients with 365. Can I manage all my tenants with a single ABM or do I have to create an account for each one of my clients?

Stephane, yes you can manage multiple intune tenants with a single ABM, simply create a separate MDM server in ABM for each tenant

@@theCMC What would happen when the client decides to move to another MSP? If the devices are under the old MSP, would they need to be wiped and re-enrolled? Would it be better to enroll the client under their own ABM? Thanks for the videos! 👍

@@mr.e9150 Unfortunately yes its my understanding you would need to wipe and re-enrol the Apple devices. MSPs can manage multiple mdm servers under one ABM tenant.

I am a Business Manager Admin. I want to allow my user to BYOD or User Enrolment. What steps should I follow besides from Intunes. Is there any way I can allow my users to enable sign in with their work account on their own device.

After I enroll the device, it will show under my ABM?

If we already own for example 50 iphones, will this method work? Or do they have to be phones bought after the fact you've signed up and purchased them through the Apple Business Manager?

You can setup ABM before purchasing Apple devices. Then either have your distributor or Apple add the devices to ABM as you buy them. If you have devices before you setup ABM then retrospectively have your distributor add them if that’s possible or the alternative is add them manually but that’s time consuming. You need to be ordering devices through Apple or an Apple Authorised reseller who can add the devices to ABM. Where devices have already been sent you can ask them retrospectively if they have all the order numbers but again this needs to be via Apple or a reseller you purchased through. The last option is to use Apple Configurator 2 but you need to be physically with the device. See my other videos in the series for that.

@@theCMC thank you for your reply, But my issue is my users are developers and need admin permissions I am planning to use intune or ManageEngine MDM which one do you recommend And what I can do if the user with admin permissions remove the company portal Can I lock the device ??

Have you posted the process to enroll to ABM? The DUNS number verficiation, request process, etc. Did not find one. Can you please pint me to one? Thanks! How about Identitiy Federation, any content/material recommendations?
