Iowa fan here. Congratulations to South Carolina for their win against Iowa. What a heck of a game. Dawn Staley is just the greatest coach and KAMILLA CARDOSO, there is no answer for her. Hannah Stuelke was doing her best, just a great job. She played so well. ALSO; That S.C. bench is so deep but when Cardoso went out of the game, Iowa could get to the basket. When Cardosa is in the game, not so much. 4/7/24 - It will be a game to be remembered. Women's sports matter! Last, I admired the sportsmanship with both Coaches, both teams/players. Something to be admired.

Sure kate got 30… But shooting 10 for 28. Thats the difference maker. But SC had a strategy and all i saw was Clark camping outside the arc. That was going to be a recipe for disaster.

@@ChanningSwagum I would say Clark did pretty good considering Iowa was +10,000 to get to the final last season and +2500 this season. Not bad for a player on a team with only one top 25 high school recruit (Herself) as opposed to SC's 7. And you better go see an optometrist because by insinuating Clark was "Camping" it's undermining. She's been smothered this entire tournament and still got the Hawkeyes to the Championship. I'll tell you what Champ you go running through the paint doing layups against 3 women who are 6'7,6'5 and 6'4 collectively. The strategy was 6'7 Kamilla Cardosa for starters. You put Kamilla on Iowa and they are scoring 100 points all season. Since 1986 Iowa never sniffed a chance at the title. How's that for camping?

@@LILDroidDEX That’s untrue. We had one primary defender, Raven Johnson, on Clark after the 1st quarter. Our other team members focused on shutting down the rest of Iowa’s team and scoring for SC. That’s because we knew if the other teammates got hot, we would lose the game. I’m not even an Iowa fan but it’s annoying how the other girls are constantly discounted as if they bring nothing to the team. This is where I have an issue. South Caroline had an undefeated season and won the Nationals and very little attention to the WINNING team and WINNING members of that team or WINNING coach. Yet, everyone acts like Caitlin Clark saved women's sports single-handedly. Before Caitlin Clark there was Cheryl Miller, Sheryl Swoops, Dawn Staley, Cahmique Holdsclaw, Candace Parker, Brittney Griner. Currently, there is Angel, JuJu, Anessa, Cardossa, and more. What is this obsession with and hero worship of Caitlin Clark? Male: "I'm not trying to make excuses....but she was tired." Everybody is freakin tired.

@@420blowingsmoke If that were the case, viewership for any Iowa game should be 12 million -- if Caitlin Clark is the driving force, then any game Caitlin Clark played in should have generated 12 million views. Why didn't it? Because it is not all about Caitlin Clark, that's why. Not everyone wants to watch LeBron James or Steph Curry. We have our favorite teams. But a matchup between Steph and LeBron, well yeah, that gets 12 million views. For as long as I have followed basketball, a GOAT needed a ring. Karl Malone and Charles Barkley have accolades but no championship ring -- so no GOAT title. Now all of a sudden the women who win the ring contributed nothing to the sport -- only Caitlin Clark with no ring? I haven't heard one word about Cardoza and she was MVP. How does that happen? Rules have changed and are more favorable to offense in many sports. To keep the eyeballs on the game it has to adjust to entertaining skill players. In the women's game specifically because unfortunately the tired narrative they aren't as good as men can be refuted by the logo 3s and tremendous passing of players like Clark.

@@disheemthomas4553 you're delusional. There were MANY passes from Clark to her teammates that they missed layups or point blank shots or were blocked. Didn't try to involve her teammates? You're smoking crack. Blocks? You really think a 6' guard is gonna be out there blocking 6'3-6'7 players all game? Did you really think that was a knock? Just say that you yourself have never played sports a day in your life but you have many stupid fkn opinions... Side note- Clark did actually have a really nice clean block during the game that the refs somehow found a way to call a foul. It wasn't and wasn't even close.

Hats off to USC. They were so big and athletic. I was rooting for the Hawks, but knew it was a mountain to climb. When you go into a game knowing you will be out rebounded by double, its tough. In any case, hats off to Clark. Two amazing seasons. Even though she was a shining star on the team, she made the Iowa team better together with leadership.

Yes, the three pointers were big, the good defense against Clark, was big, also. All of SC's bigs played well, but Cordoza made the difference with her size, rebounding, shot blocking, and savvy. Great play from a talented big.

Nobody is making excuses for Caitlin. She's one of the greatest to ever do it. She had to carry her team on her back for 4 years. She never had the big-time talent on her team like South Carolina does, but dragged her team to two NCAA championship games! She's a generational player

Hey lifetime idiot. When Clark entered the Iowa basketball program it's absolutely astonishing and extraordinary to think that the Iowa Hawkeyes got to the finals 2 straight years. Since 1986 when the program began the Hawkeyes never even sniffed the final 4 let alone get to the Championship. The odds of Iowa getting to the Championship in 2023 were +10,000 and this season they were +2500. For context that's like saying the CHARLOTTE HORNETS are going to get to the NBA finals. On a team with no size on the boards or in the paint it's remarkable what Clark and her teammates did. Any illiterate who attempts to undermine her accomplishment is either a special needs adult or an envious insidious lifetime nobody. My guess - probably both ,with a little bit of Incel tossed in for good measure

Iowa was just too small to deal with South Carolina plus they didn’t have the depth to match either so this was not a surprise. But the turning point was the defense that 1 player played on Caitlin Clark from the 2nd quarter until the end of the game. Congratulations to Dawn Staley and the South Carolina players!

I will say it...Caitlin Clark said "South Carolina is so good there is only so much you can do" Well Iowa needs to recruit some African American girls that have flare and shake and bake, thats what Caitlin Clark was missing two quick girls (African American) that can shoot and have dog in them....get that Iowa and this game would have looked a lot different. Diversity...you cant win it with just apple pie you need sweet potato pie as well.

What a class act by Dawn Staley. South Carolina proved it is clearly the best team in women's basketball. They were awesome. But Dawn doesn't gloat. Like a true champ, Dawn took time to recognize Caitlin for her accomplishments. I also appreciated the respect that Dawn showed for all the other great women players by declaring that Caitlin is ONE of the Goats, not THE Goat. I will root for Dawn in everything she does going forward, just as I do for Caitlin. They both represent the best in sportsmanship and they are the real deal.

She has no defense, she has no inside game, she's avg at rebounding. She's good at shooting long distance and hoping it falls. If I throw up 20 threes, and half of them fall, that's 30 points a game right there. It's called being a COMPLETE player, which she's not. When the long jumper isn't falling, she has NOTHING else to fall on. You can't be the greatest at anything being a ONE trick pony.

I watched the 2023 NCAA Final Four game between 36-0 South Carolina and Iowa 30-6. Iowa won that game 77-73 Clark had 41 points. What I saw in that game was the same thing that happened in their latest encounter, South Caroline was fantastic at getting rebounds, in one instance the SC shooter missed, and SC was able to get the ball 4 times finally making the points. I believe if Iowa could have at least gotten half of the rebounds from misses shots they could have won.

Anyone remember how many TO’s USC took during that game? I believe it was zero. Amazing when you think about they were down 10 or 12 to nothing and never took a timeout and lead at the half. That’s how the permit and good that team is. Also shows how much faith Dawn in her preparation for the game and her teams ability to overcome adversity.
