Today is Wayne's Birthday so I put together a little video telling about how we got to know each other and work together! #SeeWhatIEat #IT'SHOT!

iowANFarmer, Ben Van Roekel, is a 2nd generation farmer in southern Iowa. His goal on KZfaq is to showcase what young farmers have to offer to the agricultural community. He hopes to give the general public a glimpse into what life is like on an American corn, soybean, and hay operation. The channel will focus on farming equipment, repairs, precision ag, and daily operations on the farm. Join him in his daily trials and tribulations in the changing agricultural environment.

Nothing better than to find a friend in older people. They have so much wisdom, just set down with them and start asking questions set back and listen. My best friend have been elderly men and women.

My Wayne was Dale my neighbor and great friend for almost 20 years . My wife helped mow and pull Dale's old 318 out when he got hung up ,taking care of their 5 acres of grass . It was like mowing a park . I miss them both , but Dale was more of a Dad to me in twenty years than mine was is 87 years .

They sure don’t make em like Wayne and my grandfather any more. My grandfather turned 90 in October. That old boy will still out work 90% of the people I know. He wakes up predawn hours and walks 5 miles before going out and marking pipeline for misc utility. Still drives a 99 f250 super cab and pulls a 35 foot fifth wheel camper to and from delaware to Oklahoma at least once a year. I can only hope to be half the man he is now by the time I’m 60 (21 years from now).

Let's point out when Wayne farmed 320 acres and worked full time ,probably had a 4 or 6 row planter ,16 or 20 foot disc , gravity wagons , and everybody culivated ! Kind of like farming 2000 acres today ! Happy Birthday Wayne and thank you for your service !

So watching some of your greatest hit here. My grandfather is a Wayne and born in 1925 outside of St Marys Kansas. When he was a kids farming with his dad he said they'd load up a horse drawn cart with grain and slap the horse on the arse and away it would go down the road while they loaded another cart and would catch up to it before hitting town. And remember while you have Wayne ask all the questions possible.

Happy Birthday Wayne, I had an ole boy like Wayne, started out I bought a shed off of him. Turned into a great friendship. He passed away 2 years ago checking cows, miss him everyday. Enjoy your time with him, it will end one day

Best story’s you’ll ever hear is from a old time farmer! My grandpa is 86 and still milking cows in Michgean. He can still tell you how the farm got started and what milk prices were back in the 40’s. God bless farmers! Happy birthday Wayne!

Wayne, happy birthday old lad👍👍 hope you enjoyed your day 😊. I was lucky as a kid, our next door neighbour (became an honorary auntie to me) showed me a lot about growing plants, veg and flowers. I owe a lot to her! Everyone needs an old timer to set you straight in life. Enjoy it while you can 😊😊

What a great story! I hope Wayne had a Great Birthday!!! I remember growing up and loving to sit and listen to the older friends of my parents tell stories, these were people that were born before WWII. One of them was a German Gentleman that came to the US before the war. To this day, I wished I had thought to record some of those conversations. Enjoy your time with Wayne, I'm sure he enjoys spending time with you also.
