I'm so glad I found out about the 2017 10.5 iPad Pro. I was gonna get the Air but now I'm going for the pro. EDIT: I went with the iPad Air 3 and am very happy with the purchase I made 9 months ago. It was my first time owning an iOS device. I've come across no issues so far, only an issue with the onscreen keyboard that's gets stuck on-screen when detaching the physical keyboard, and that has only happened a few times overall. All is well, I've definitely come across barely any issues when compared to my Android phone, no glitches or software lag, or any problems bar the aforementioned for that matter. Conclusion - I now have changed my opinion on iOS. I will not ditch Android, infact I'll still use devices running on it for mobiles, but no longer for tablets, I have chosen iPad now for my tablet needs.

Great comparison and appreciate all the hard work. I've got the OG iPad Pro 12.9, iPad Pro 10.5 and now just bought the mini. It seems weird but I use them all for different use cases. The smart money is the iPad Pro 10.5 or 12.9 old design 2017 now. Also just picked up paperlike using your code. Figured be perfect for the iPad mini and only really use that to read and take notes...hope it helps the channel as a fellow UK based tech lover!

For video editors, and most people getting iPads are not planning to edit videos on it. Artists/note takers are probably much more interested in iPads because of the writing and drawing experience.

If you use professional apps like video/photo editing or make 3D models etc then get the air since it has better processor. But if your like me and just need it for notes and content consumption then definitely 100% go for the pro. A10x is still a very powerful processor and will still be relevant for the next 3-4 years.

@@shubhamchaudhari3876 it's actually very good. If you're going for a refurbished one, make sure you get it from Apple website or store only. Else get a new one if you are able to find it. iPad Pro 10.5 is hands-down far better than iPad Air. Battery backup is very good.

Surprised it took so long to pop up in my recommended with all the 10.5 Pro vids I have been watching the last few days! My Air 2 officially died recently, Had a cracked screen for ages and further botched it trying to repair it. I had my eye on an upgrade anyway and this was the perfect excuse. Managed to snag a brand new 64GB 10.5 Pro for £350, Should be here day after tomorrow. Really think I made the best choice as I basically always have some form of video play overlaying tasks! Cant wait. Oh, You also have a new subscriber :)

Do you have the white spot issue on your Pro? There are a lot of complaints about it online after being used for about a year.

Ryan Llauderes my 2017 pro just broke but i never had that issue, my issue from a couple months in was an almost unnoticeable hairline crack, which i thought they wouldn’t cover in warranty and i think that’s been the downfall of it (i travel with it so recently the crack spread and it kept randomly turning off, now stuck in recovery), it’s sad as i had hoped it would last me 5+ years

*Really comprehensive video. Thank you for making it!* Just got a Refurbished iPad Pro 2017. It was cheaper than the base model of iPad Air 2019 and I think it is the right choice. A10X will at least last 3 years. By that time , I'd want to upgrade anyway cause both the iPad Air and Pro look kinda dated already. But using 120Hz for 3 years is just a superior experience, especially with the pencil and A10x is a beast in performance. In fact, considering the apps we have in 2019, A12 is overkill (which is a good thing but not really practically beneficial anytime soon) The camera and quad speakers are side benefits.

10.5 pro stil the best money can buy in 2019. Just got one new for 449€. Tx for the convincing review. Glad i didnt went for the air. Speakers and pro motion is awesome!!
