I’m watching this on my 2017 iPad Pro 10.5 and it’s still as fast and fun as it was the day I bought it almost 5 years ago. It’s starting to show a little more battery drain with the newest iPad OS, but I can’t come up with a good reason to upgrade. For web browsing, email, video watching, it’s great. And the camera seems as good as my iPhone 12 Pro.

The iPad Pro 10.5 (2017/2018) is still a very good device! Still using mine in 2022 (September) for office work, video editing, drawing, music playback and internet browsing. Absolutely nothing to complain. It is still fast enough (no lags!) and stable, no matter what I am doing with it. By the way I am using mine with the Logitech keyboard (with trackpad) and it is even more fun to use, because it feels like a real laptop ;-)

Yeah this tablet is still a beast in 2022. My dad recently upgraded to the M1 11 inch and he had the 10.5 iPad Pro in white and I bought it and the Apple Pencil off him. I had bought earlier this year a Tab S6 Lite for a good price, however I would never use it as it was pretty sluggish compared to the Poco F3 which I had or especially the iPhone 13 Pro which I currently am using. This iPad, I have no problem going to and using for media consumption or web browsing over my iPhone. The S6 Lite, it may have been let down by the fact it was 60hz panel but I swear, this iPad still feels great to use. I was considering since I use my iPad a lot about upgrading to a new one but this video has reinforced my belief that the 2017 model is still an absolute unit and I was considering upgrading to a newer one but every time I use it and for what I use it for I always find myself saying it would be a waste of cash. I wasn't considering getting the 2021 M1 iPads as I think they are overkill and a rip off, not in terms of what you are getting as it is a very powerful tablet, but the issue is I do coding for my Uni work and you still can't code on iPad OS whereas on the M1 Macbooks you can. If Apple made a big change in iPad OS where you were allowed to run MacOS applications or optimised MacOS applications on the iPad 2021 and onwards, then I would find myself considering one as it would be the dream device for me to have it all in one but for the meantime I will keep my iPad Pro for mostly media consumption and my laptop/desktop for coding. I was looking at the 2020 models either on eBay or Apple refurb as it would cost me about £200-300 to upgrade to the 12.9 inch but I don't think it would be worth it or that noticeable except a larger screen.

I'm still using mine. Mainly for zoom, emails, youtube, netflix, etc. I don't game on it because of the size. I have a mini 5 for that. But as a media consumption device, this is amazing. The sound is so amazing for music and video playbacks. Loud and crisp, I don't even have to use my bluetooth speaker. I'll keep it for another year or two before I buy a new pro with M1 chip, I guess.

I just bought it yesterday for 380 dollars 256 Gb and the performance is still kicking and it performs better than other android tablet today.

Been using this since mid 2020. More than enough for my use of media consumption, zoom meeting, office (excel and word)., and web browsing.

I just upgraded from this to an M2 for the new pencil and newer device in general. My “old” 10.5” is shockingly fast still. I can still do everything using that A10X chip right now.

They should release this, but give it a newer chip. Keep the design and colors and sell it as the iPad 10th gen. Replacing the previous gens. And sold for only 329 bucks with 64 gb base model storage and 399 for 128 gb . Now that’s worth the price.

I have this iPad Pro 2017 in 2023 it’s still fast for movies, browsing up to 7 tabs, and Spotify.. the gaming performance is still quite good but since last year it has a bit of lag when playing heavy games like Genshin impact and COD when using very high.. but using in high settings it still performs good. Now after I upgraded to M2 the speed difference is noticeable

I finaly take this one and not the ipad 9. I have watch thousands of review on youtube since a month ago. I got one 256GB in only $222. It was in very good condition. 156 charge times and 88% batery health. No white spot, no dent and scratch at all. Is it still worth it in 2023 and would it goes to 3 another 3 years. Only use it for drawing animation..Thank you so much.

120 MHz Pro motion is amazing. This iPad lags sometimes, but it’s plenty fast for most people. Use a screen protector. Mine peeled off and I immediately got a scratch on the screen! Otherwise this iPad is still perfect in 2022, better than the new iPad or the iPad Air M1, due to the fast refresh rate. And you can get a cheap pencil for it.

In Nigeria here, 2018 iPad pro is almost double the price of this one. I'd say go for it if you don't have the money for 2018 iPad pro. This also outperforms certain newer iPads from 2018, 2019 and even 2020 especially in the RAM and graphics department. If your budget is tight this is a great option. If you have the money, skip this and go for the 2018 and newer instead, so long as they're the Pro versions. iPad Air below 2020 is either on par with this or weaker than this iPad {Forget benchmarks}

Great look at this! It is 2023....I was thinking about getting this refurbished by Amazon (never owned an Apple product, Android all the way), and using it for Garageband, video editing, drawing apps and Roblox and Minecraft ...sort of a family tablet...is it worth it?

I had one, but bought one extra last week, in a refurbish store, for my music production! its a killer, very good for DTP and Music-apps! You can find them for arround 300 bucks, Mine was almost new, only 10 load cycles, not a single scratch! My old one had a load cycle of 373 and still 100 percent batt. capacity after watching the news for 10 minutes just a great Device! I am sure I am still working with them in 2030! Till then!

I have the choice for the same price (380) the ipad pro 10.5" wifi+4G 64go 2017 (refurbished very good condition screen 0 scratch battery unused warranty 1 year) *or* ipad 2021 10.2 wifi cellular 64go new one. The new one seems more powerful on the paper, but it's the 4 speakers of the pro and the 120 ips that can make the difference. Do you think that at the same price the two can stand the comparison, and finally, the sound (important to me, making music) and the reactivity of tactile are really above the ipad 2021 (not pro)?

one thing i wanna point out is that this device doesn’t use LTPO technology; its refresh rate is varying from 60-120 and not 10-120

"let's hear it" 😂 it's so dumb to review speakers on You Tube, you have several levels of equalization: one from the iPad with the actual sound, another from processing it through the recording device/cable/mic, one through the DAW, one through You Tubes processing, one through the device receiving the transmission (the viewers device), And even another if they are using external speakers connected to their device. Speaker reviews on You Tube are a crap shoot. I have one, I think the speakers are fine.
