Wow so at first I thought "they're doing a strange cover of For Whom the Bell Tolls", until I realized that Metallica was doing an "unofficial cover" or Venom. Seriously I know there's quite a lot of similar riffs in metal but that? That's like when Vanilla Ice changed the baseline of Under Pressure by one note and a hi hat hit then tried to claim it was totally different.

Doesn't seem as alike (or good) as you imply. Did you know "A song of ice and fire" were basically lifted off of robert frost poems? Frost even came up with the name Stark...as an adjective moreso than a surname...but still. Everything comes from something else, just a bit more refined. We can prob take it all the way back to when we first emerged from the wreckage of the last cataclysm...the weird part is when we echo forgotten pasts...genetic aether connection is what I figure....
