I totally agree. Apple users aren‘t sheep and everyone that thinks so should make up their mindset and think again. There are extremes in every way, Apple is not a religion, nor is android. They both got there pros and cons and whoever appreciates this certain pros can enjoy the device. I‘m an Apple user sonce the screens got bigger on the iPhone 5 but I‘m far away from hating android. There is nothing to hate about something that gives pleasure to someone and both platforms can do this. Lovely video, I hope to see more KZfaqrs adapt this style of telling their honest opinion.

For a budget version of a flagship, its a gorgeous device (I got the aquamarine blue), and it brings me joy every time I pick it up and customise it a little bit more. Google wallpaper app is free, and has some gorgeous wallpapers. Kept minimal apps on home screen, minimal widgets dialed down to opaque setting (gorgeous), and i can put apps where I want (yay). Operation wise... not a huge difference between the two flagship operating systems; I was surprised, I definitely had preconceived ideas about Android, only to have those busted.

@@tejas4256 The key not to get tied down to any ecosystem, is to continue to mostly use the Google and third party apps that you already are familiar with on Android, on your new iPhone. And for new apps you may get interested in, can it be used across all platforms that may pop up in your future (Android, Apple, windows)? Continue to use Google drive (or whatever drive), continue to use Google photos (in fact, back up IOS photos to Google photos, in settings, so that you always have ALL your photos - old and new - backed up in one place). And even if you start using the native IOS apps (which are good!), you can upload any data from these to third party drives (OneDrive, Google Drive or whatever) to take with you back to Android or perhaps a Windows computer.

I have really given Android a go this year, I switched from an iPhone 11 to a Oneplus 8t and I hated it, it really was a bad experience but instead of jumping back I swapped the Oneplus for a galaxy s20+ 5g, the experience was much better than the Oneplus but... I really dont like Android, there's something to be said for iOS and how optimized it is, simple things like apps fitting the screen and continuety between different app, also the customisation of Android seems to be a "selling point" but for me it's just a bit gimmicky and no theme is ever as good as the stock version anyway, the amount of app crashes is insane, I have had to restart my phone more times in the last month due to weird freezing, or apps not working or Bluetooth than in the last 7 years on iOS. I've just returned my iPhone but it was such a close call. The iPhone is a great phone. Some of my use cases weren't there. Android's Work Profile is a killer feature allowing me to completely separate the two accounts. Also some amateur radio apps that are Android only. I've dropped my Pixel to 60Hz as I can't see the difference. iPhone power management is nice. Smaller battery than the Pixel but I noticed same longevity. The flip side is some things like Garmin and Google Photos didn't happen in the background. So yes the iPhone is a really nice phone. My use cases move me to Android. Having just tried the 13 Pro as a former Apple user, I was quickly reminded of how non-user friendly it all is. It feels like copium when people shout about it's usability, when in reality, Android has tons of straightforward QoL that Apple straight up denies you the use of. There were so many little things you did to achieve something that took less steps or easier to reach steps to achieve on Android. For starters, why the hell is the Settings app not addable to the Settings swipe-down???

IPhones are great and simple. Android's are great and can be simple or complex. The only reason I don't buy an iPhone for myself is that I don't think it's worth 800-1200$. The same way I don't think the new flagship androids are worth 700-1000$. I don't game or edit video on phones for example. Your review is very unbiased and you made very fair comparisons. Well done

After 3 years of using an iPhone I bought a Note 20 ultra, used it for a month and went back to iPhone,. I had a lot of problems with my Ford sync 3 system the phone sometimes work other times it got stuck and it had issues with my Honda 2019 infotainment system as well. Now with my 12 Pro Max everything works flawless and great. One of the things I miss is the 120h refresh rate after a month of use and having it you really feel the difference going back to a 60H refresh rate. Another thing that is great on Android is the Opera web browser it has a setting that fixes the text when you pinch to zoom it's very convenient, you can zoom in or out and the text will auto fix to the size of your screen it's great.

Good video as always. I am still debating on what phone I want as an upgrade of my current Oneplus 6. There's nothing wrong with it at all, however sometimes you just have the luxury problems of wanting something new. As an all time Android user, not so much a deep diver like yourself, I thought it might actually be a good idea to try something completely different. And by that I would make the swap to iOS for the first time, just to get that experience also. Making these decisions are surprisingly difficult with so many options available, even if I decide to not go for an iPhone at all.

Switched to iPhone recently after 10+ years of Android. It's a very functional and beautiful enticing jail cell. As long as they have 100% control over what apps I can install on my phone it will never really feel like home. Apple, Google and Amazon colluded to run Parler out of business but at least in Android's case you can run a degoogled ROM and/or sideload apps and use alternative app stores.

FYI for anyone who wants to know. With the last part where he talks about the creating the shortcuts 8:45 , this has been fixed in IOS 14.3 which launched yesterday 12/14. So, it doesn't have to open through the shortcut app anymore. It goes directly to the app. Also, great video, I recently decided to make a switch to Iphone from android just to check it out. I share a lot of the same opinions, but overall I'm loving the new experience and everything just works well for me.

Really nice and interesting review. I've been using android for years and have been pretty OK with it. The design of the iphones and the camera and all that is really great, but there's two reasons why I probably won't switch to iPhone. One is the OS. iOS is great for those who can work with it. It's pretty fluent and looks pretty good, but lots of stuff that I use on android on a daily basis just don't work with ios and all in all I have had quite negative experiences working with ios which is a big point for me to never switch to ios. And two is the price. I am just not ready to pay 999$ for a phone. It might be worth the price for some people but I would never pay that much for a phone. Not even the best android. All in all, iphones are great for those who can work with them and are used to it or for those who value security (i.e. FaceID). I'm pretty happy with my android and am not thinking of switching any time soon, still a good video and I definitely agree a lot with you.

I'm not a fanboy but I think you have it completely wrong regarding the MagSafe complaints. The whole issue with wireless charging is that people can't charge and use their phone at the same time. That's why I and millions of others have stuck to wired charging for all these years. MagSafe solves that problem by having wireless charging when you need it - but also being usable while charging, honestly it's brilliant. Thats just my two cents, thanks for your review.

Magsafe is just a different way of wired charging. But you could easily make it your definition of wireless by embedding the Magsafe puck in a heavy base so that when you lift the phone up, the Magsafe puck stays in place.
