Aluminum cannot be soldered, only welded, otherwise it will fall off or burn

I think that this issue happened to me where I've likely burned the bms despite not seeing any damage. I wanted to solder a new battery onto the bms, which I did so, then when I put it back in the phone, to activate the battery so that I can program it with jcid, it seems to be bootlooping when I plugged the cable in. I also tested another non original battery and it booted up normally, so I narrowed down the issue to be the bms. It is an 11 pro max that I'm working on and I think you are right about how delicate the 11 series bms is. Any suggestions or ideas would be appreciated. Thanks👍 I have the equipment to carry out the repair swapping the eeprom ic from the old board to the new, however what stencil would be best to use which the pitch matches the bga of the eeprom?

@@MrAn0n This is true, both anode and cathode are nickel plated and depending on the quality of metal used in the product, it can spot weld very well or very poorly. So far with my experience the vendor I bought the batteries from both have poor quality connectors to spot weld to, they have just recently added another supplier which I may try in future. Anyway I was able to get the bms working. The thing is I never actually burned out the board, however I did notice what looked to be a diode that had exploded underneath the underfill coating which was the cause of the bootloop. I bought another used 11 pro max genuine battery, and swiped the diode from that board and placed it on the main bms, and following on from that small repair was it fully working 🤔, able to program and install the battery.

What is the temperature settings and airflow when you reball the ic chip?

Depends on the soldering paste 138c 250-270 air 20 183c 300-320 air 20

@@AntoineKiriaky10 @AntoineKiriaky10 Hello, I'm working on the same issue where I received an XR with a damaged flex and has no luck jumping the cut lines. It would be great if you can share which chips are responsible for the batt info. I've been looking for this solution for more than a week and didn't notice you have this on your videos. haha! Btw, the batt health and error message is not much of an issue on the client's end, but I experienced multiple random restarts throughout the day while testing the unit. The panic log specifically tells it's a BMS error, so I really want to fix this. Thank you for sharing your blessings. (iPhone XR). Followed you on IG and will try to message you if you have time. Hi. Does the donor flex have to be an original Apple battery, or can it be from a third party equivalent? Also, is it just the one chip on an Xr. Thanks

Must be original, but there are a lot of third party batteries that has an original BMS. The XR has 2 chips, if you want to swap
