Sim-free option which makes it unlocked so you can use any carrier you choose and not locked to a carrier

@@Technomentary Quick question for you my old phone was a 4G iphone I’ve transferred all my files over to my iPhone 12 the question is if I take the Sim card from my old phone and put it into my 12 am I still gonna have access to 5G or do I need to use the Sim card that came with it? And if so any clue how to move the number to the new Sim card or do I have to call a Carrier ? I know I should’ve had apples set that up on my Sim card when I originally bought the damn thing I thought I was going to be easier

Wondering if you have a 4lte SIM card in iPhone 12, I tried just buying a 12 sealed in box at Apple store to set up later. And I was told they had to activate there, I could not set it up myself at home (like you are doing). I was told it was because it was a 5g phone, that activation needed to be done with them to get a 5g SIM card? Did you hear that? Thanks for the video, great job!

Question: if I buy an iPhone 12 from the Apple store website that is unlocked, do you you think it matters if I buy an iPhone that is sim free with the Verizon link without the sim card (in order to get the 30 dollars off) or if I buy an iPhone that is sim card free without the Verizon link and paying an extra 30 dollars for the phone? Becuase I was considering putting my Verizon sim card from my iPhone x into my iPhone 12 (if I do upgrade) so I can attempt to avoid the whole paying extra for 5g even though it isn't in my area.

SIM free version would be better because it would be unlocked to use on different carriers if you switch carriers so you can't locked to a carrier.

Side question: if I already have a Verizon SIM card, do you still think it’s best to get an unlocked sim free version as apposed to a sim free phone using the Verizon link to get the $30 off?

@@EdaTheOwlLadyFan94 Buy it on Verizon, and pay it in full, apple will ask you to put your account number from Verizon and your ssn and that’s it, you just saved 30 dollars, and as soon as you get the phone you can pop in any SIM card what so ever it’s fully unlocked. JUST don’t buy it from AT&T, and don’t buy it from a carrier’s website, so you basically buy it directly from apple, choose Verizon as the carrier(DON’T CHOOSE AT&T), and when you get the phone, you are free to use any SIM card from any carrier.

Is your iPhone compatible with your carrier? If you bought sim free / unlocked, then most carriers will work. If you bought it for a specific carrier, it will only work on that carrier and it’s sub carriers. Contact your carrier and they should be able to help.

SIM card will only transfer phone service. Nothing else

Yes iCloud backup or iTunes back up. You have back it up on either and then restore it. iCloud is easiest since all you have to do is sign in with the same account but iCloud has 5GB limit unless you pay for more storage. iTunes is download app that you can use on your computer and there’s no need to buy more storage. You can follow the steps to back up and restore.

SIM card is for getting phone service. Your phone carrier will provide you one when you get service from them. You can still use the iPhone on Wifi.

OK. I got a new iphone 11 which came with a new sim card. I have an old iphone 6 that has a sim card.I took the old sim card and put it in the new phone. Was that ok. New phone works fine. Why did they send me a new sim card anyway?

you can certainly do that. one thing to consider is contacting the carrier to transfer your phone number and service to the new sim as the sim technology changes over time and if your carrier has 4G LTE / 5G, you will need to use the newer sim card to get the best service for cellular data

I have Sprint and cannot get my Iphone 12 data activated. Rep have tried all the tricks. he said he will pass it up to Tech 2. I am using an old sim from my iphone xs max. I was able to call and receive but just no data. Its very fustrating not been able to get cellular activated.

My friend has sprint. Her father needed a new SIM card after the merge. My friend and her boyfriend might need a new SIM card when they upgrade. I’m not sure cause I don’t know how long their SIM cards are they say their phones have 5G. So they might not need a new one. I have t mobile and got a new SIM card cause I switched carriers

no but if your carrier has 5g capability you might want to get the updated sim card to have the best 5g compatibility and speed

I got my phone from AT&T. The SIM card was already installed. Power up your new iPhone and place it next to your old iPhone (maybe android too?). Follow the setup prompts. I forget exactly when but it will eventually ask you if you want to transfer settings/data from your old phone. Say yes (or continue), follow steps to pair the phones and wait while it copies/transfers all of your data/settings (including play store apps you had installed). When done with transfer, there may be a few settings you may need to setup. Then it's time to activate your phone. Go to "att.com/getstarted" and follow the instructions. You will still need to reenter passwords for any apps/websites you are registered at.

I’m having the same problem. From what I’ve read you need to use the 5G SIM card but I can’t get the phone to activate and start working to make phone calls. I bought my new phone from Costco and guy said just swap the SIM card but that is not right because my old phone is iPhone 6S and it’s definitely not a 5G SIM card.

@@Toadster250 I assume Costco supplied the SIM card for whichever phone service you signup for. Do not use the SIM card from your old phone. Go to the website for the service you signed up for and look for the “activate” phone service page or call customer service. May need the IMEI account# or Serial# and the activation number on the SIM card. With AT&T, activation page is at att.com/getstarted

warranty starts after you put your wifi / internet connection and goes to the screen where it's says wait few minutes to connect to Apple servers

So I got my 12 Pro Max this past Friday and I’m trading my SE with Apple for. $210 credit. When I transferred the data from the SE to the Pro Max using the side by side method, I do not see a full one to one transfer of my vids, pics, and music.....it’s very close but not one to one and that’s got me heated. My phone is asking for a PIN to verify my identity. Then I input the correct PIN and it says it can’t verify my identity and fails. That step seems to not even show up on any setup video I watch. Can anyone help me out?

If you bought it from a carrier, contact them. If it's a Verizon iPhone, it could be the person with the account's last 4 SSN.

I’ve had my SIM card for 5 years now. Do you think I should get a new sim, same service or get a new sim. I heard it’s good if you get a new one, have you heard that? What do you think?

newer sim is recommended since technology within the sim card changes overtime such as 5G capabilities. most major carrier can replace it for free and transfer your phone over without any issue

You can switch out and start using the old sim for phone service. However, new sim card will work better but you will have to call your phone carrier to get the new sim card activated with your number since the phone number is currently attached to your existing sim card.

Just call your carrier to activate the new SIM card unless you want to use the existing one which you can swap

If it has cellular data, it will connect to internet. Go to settings and check Cellular and look to see if Cellular Data is on (green)

Not that I am aware of. Only valid legal way is to be able to present your proof of purchase at an Apple store (assuming you purchased from a legal reputable seller) where they can see the serial number associated with the phone on it. From there, they will remove the icloud lock on the phone. This is the only way to have it removed if you somehow forgot your Apple login, or somehow purchased an icloud locked phone, Only *MOE* works perfectly.. All websites that claim to be able to do it for you are likely to be scams and I wouldn't even take a risk with them not for once if not for *MOE..*

I had the same situation,,I was in a three years relationship with my ex and we had wonderful years and so many happy memories together. Unfortunately at the end of the relationship I started noticing some changes in him I had many suspicions that he was cheating on me, but he never admitted to it and that’s the worst part. But he decided to end our relationship like that saying he didn’t love me anymore. Now he says he’s trying to move on and I’m sure it’s with the girl he is cheating on me with. I just have that gut feeling. It’s a very tough time for me because tomorrow is our anniversary and I can’t stop thinking about our relationship I’m having rough time motivating my self.
