Having the iPhone 13 myself I can confirm it has impressive battery life. It’s crazy to think the iPhone 13 having the more powerful a15 processor in it and yet beating out the competition like this. The s22 has its pros and cons but battery life is so important it made my buying choice that much easier.

Even am astonished by the fact that an iPhone outperformed an android device in terms of battery life, but I do you think this will be the scenario after an year or more? Or after the next ios update?. I always see an iPhone that is good in terms of battery during the launch and period slowly degrading in battery life. Not just because of the age of the battery cell but even after that I feel the newer os update makes it worse, which isn't the case of an android phone.

@@saisathya6274 this is true actually. Happened with my IPhone 12. After a year, the battery life sucks
@araffaelegmw2 жыл бұрын
@@saisathya6274 iPhones batteries 🔋 are just like any other smartphone in they have a certain number of charge cycles. This applies to both iPhone and android. Apples iOS is better optimised so it uses less juice to perform the same task hence the longer battery life and this is usually with a smaller battery than an android alternative. Since we understand batteries have a set life span it makes sense to assume a battery that is drawing less power and still being used as intended will last longer over its lifetime. Apple get the best out of a bettery for as long as possible like android though apple can do this with smaller battery mah (capacities) compared to android. Due to better optimisations. No operating system lessens a batteries life but the advancing operating systems may require more from a bettery as years go. This is just aging of tech which happens to everything. Nothing lasts for ever but if we look after it and use it as intended it will last us for many years.

@saisathya62742 жыл бұрын
@@araffaelegmw you have explained things clearly, I too agree with you but the thing is battery backup of an android phone that's as old as an iPhone might also be weak and may consume more power as new operating system and an old hardware work together as you said, but when compared even in such a situation an iPhone's battery is very poor when compared to an android phone. Now that's what am talking about. After 3 + years of usage in common the battery of an android device is still manageable than that of an iPhone though its the most expensive one.

Fun fact: Samsung have lots of stuff running in the background as default. Deep Sleeping the apps actually makes the battery extremely good. Mine used to last for a whole day but had to be charged at night. After customizing the phone completely, putting nearly all apps in deep sleep, disabling some apps which I don't use/never use, the phone lasts for more than 2 days while doing the same tasks as I did when it lasted for a day. It really depends on how much knowledge you have on smartphones. If you are just a normal user who does not modify much stuff, the iphone is better but if you are into lots of things, not just using the phone normally, choose a samsung. I give apple credit on having a phone which does not drain much battery for simple user but I do give samsung credit on having the most customization possible in comparison with Apple. Apple is more security based whereas samsung is more customizable and user friendly based. In the end. Both phones win in their own space.

Apple has always had great programmers, their team were just more focused on other things. Although, now that Apple knows how important software efficiency is, they are using it to their advantage, eventually Qualcomm will follow in great programming, but this does allow Apple to save a significant amount of money which is why their profits have shot up. It's all about software implementation nowadays but I would rather buy a large phone, 6.7 inches at least without costing me a thousand pounds sterling or near that.

Two different comapnies people compare all the time. In the end, what matters is an individual's needs and my needs for a smartphone are these; decent batter, one day of music and texting on data running out is perfect for me. Your test is more like a tablet competition. You ought to add some phone calls in your routine tests. Also, moving around any city/country affects phone signal reception and that impact battery because the phone is trying to connect to network and where signal is weak it will try harder, thus consuming more battery. So, if all you do is game and watch yb and scroll ig then this side by side is relevant, but if you do take phone calls, do some text messaging (insert here your favorite app) then, move along :)

After 1 month I dont see apple having such a big gap in battery. I say its what ecosystem fits you, I have windows 11 pc for my needs and android complements that because links to windows/dex support/cross compatibility. Unfair comparison for several reasons: 1. The brightness of the S22 was set to a noticeably higher level, probably 30% higher judging by the levels I measured with a graphics program using several screenshots of the video. This alone easily drains the battery with at least 10%. 2. The refresh rate of the Galaxy S22 had to be set to 60Hz to be equal to the one of iPhone 13. Just because the S22 can reach 120Hz does not mean that most people use it that way, especially if their goal is to get the maximum battery life off the phone. It's like cars - just because it can reach a certain maximum speed does not mean that people drive it to the maximum all the time. It's an extra feature that comes at the cost of a shorter battery life. 3. Another thing to consider is that iPhone 13 is automatically put into power saving mode and background processes are being killed automatically, whereas you had to set the Galaxy S22 into battery saving mode manually, and also battery usage to be adaptive. Once you do that, the S22's CPU would work at 70% of its maximum power, and less background processes will work compared to the default full power mode. You can also set adaptive power saving to revert back to 100% CPU power only when the phone truly needs it, such like when playing heavy 3d games. Once you do that, you will notice that the battery live is quite longer. 4. Also, have you used the S22 regularly for at least 2 weeks in a row before the test? The phone needs that period do learn the habits of the user and then will automatically set the adaptive usage of the battery properly. A brand new opened S22 will always perform worse in battery life comparisons than a slightly used S22 for at least couple of weeks. 5. You had to take advantage of the Deeps sleep feature of the S22 in order for the phone to limit the usage of apps that drain the battery unnecessarily. That also happens after a certain period of time, which is at least 7-10 days of daily use. You can also manually set certain apps into Deep sleep to force them not run in background (such like checking and downloading automatic updates) unless you truly need them opened.

@@SheerMayhem So you're turning off the features like 120hz which is one of the reasons why the phone is expensive and not use them? Then it's no different when using a midrange phone. Just admit it, iphones are just hella optimize and more efficient than samsung. I know because I've been using samsung for the past 10 years and all of them were becoming slow within 1-2 years, and let's not forget about the overheating just by scrolling in social media apps. My last samsung flagship was the s10+ exynos was okay within the first year even though it was getting hot. But the third year it was getting ridicously hot and I would need to charge it once every 5 hours at home and I was just using wifi, and it was becoming very slow. I recently bought the iphone 13 about 2 weeks ago, and the battery is just WAY better, and better and consistent camera, and way less overheating. The fact that you had to turn off those features just to get better battery life is evidence that samsung is less optimized and efficient than iphones. Don't forget that the iphone has a smaller battery than the galaxy s22. It's clearly facts that the iphone is more optimized.
