It's very marginal in favour of the 14 in most of these scenarios. Not a reason to upgrade from the 13 series but for anyone with 12 or below, it makes sense.

Wait until you try ProRaw in 48mp. You’ll see a huge difference. The new cameras are better but having access to all 48mp is a game changer for mobile photography.

Thanks for the hard work to bring out this video bro.... Also one suggestion from my side which should make this comparison more reliable is that if you show each and every time that settings in the camera app has been reset to default to take the shot, its personal opinion cz over the time we tweak the settings to our convenience which might not work out in each an every situation..overall very good video..thanks and take care.❤

Hi and thank you!😊 I have the 14 Pro Max, I haven’t really had chance to fully use the camera yet. Which camera setting did you use please, Standard or Rich Contrast? I find on rich contrast it makes the shadows quite dark. I do like the phone and all it’s other gestures though. I’ve subscribed! I’m from Devon UK. 😊

One should not upgrade from 13 series to 14, unless you have too much money. None of the differences are anything substantial to waste your money to upgrade every year. All phones have decent/good cameras now. It's best to upgrade every 2/3 year to get more value of your investment.

You’ve gone beyond any of the other reviewers by all your different shots thank you 👌👍 and yes there is a marketably difference in the 14 pm than the 13 pm 👍 I fly drones and outside sunlight is a bane one reason why I went for the 13 pm for the extra nits but now the 14 pm with 2,000 nits will be hands down the best so far and will change, thanks again 👍👍👍

They have indeed gotten better and almost got me to upgrade a year later from my 13 Pro Max and if they made a decent improvement this year, boy o boy can’t wait until the 15 🎉 as much as I want this better camera, I will force myself to wait for another year. Watching this video on my iPhone 8 plus... Its still a beast phone, good camera & satisfied with processing. I think iPhones r reliable phones & it works 3-4 years easily if u use it with care. Couldn't found major difference in photos taken by iphone 8+ & 12 pro max especially out in Nature.

The first selfie , 13 pro max you took the picture way too upward while the selfie om the 14 pro u took it very level to the horizon and then u say the 13 pro is blown out on the HDR .? i think they very simillar

There are two types of photographers. People who want good pics of people, holidays, family etc and people who want technically perfect photos of things like macro and Astro photography. The 14 pro is perfect for people who just log memories of their life. People who want technical excellence will be disappointed and will always choose slr. I’ve moved from wanting excellence to being happy to log memories of family, food, holidays, etc so will upgrade to 14 pro. The trick is to forget the iPhone aperture, sensor, mega pixel specs because they are all fudged really. It’s not a 2,2 aperture when you factor focal length and sensor size, it’s pretty much f10. I’m satisfied with light raw editing from phones to get pleasing life logging pics so iPhone is perfect for that.

Like all gear from apple they get over excited about specs but in reality they are small improvements. As long as people realise 48 mp over 12 isn’t 4 times better, then people will be pleased with the camera update but they still have a while to go to match a dedicated digital camera.

Even 48 mp isn't really 48MP. This time apple played the same game as Oppo, vivo or infnix does. The main cam is 12 in reality but the "48 mp" comes with s CATCH

@@axd2312 typical from apple. Finally put bigger camera and they are shrinking the image. (not a photographer so don't care about the proRAW). At least put it as an option do I want my regular photos to be shrinked. What's the point of 48MP, when you compress it and then zoom all go to mush

The mug shot is not in the same spot or the same angle and that's why there is such a difference. You kind of messed up that one. You can see in the following landscape pic that the clouds are similar.

Well wit my Astigmatism and catarachts, I cant tell the differene. they are both blurry and double imaged and make my eyes water when I try to focus on the images!🤣🤣

If you’re comparing you need to have the same setup. Your first image comparison is flawed. The horizons should match. The 13s positioning is higher into the sky which will darken your mug and so there is compensation from the camera by brightening the image and increasing the blown out highlights. I suggest you redo these images and match the angle of view.

Yeh, I realise that now. Many people flagged that. I got carried away trying to pull KZfaqr faces that I wasn’t thinking much about the composition…it’s another wrinkle that I’ll iron out going forward.

great review. but what I don’t get why so few reviewers make more realistic real life scenario comparisons. Eg to 2, 3 or 4 years old phones. the average age of an iphone in use is over 3.5 years and I think it’s the people who have the older models are the ones more likely to upgrade. only few super-fans change phones every year

I’m about to get an iPhone to replace my Samsung Note 3, which is prob as old as some of the commenters on You Tube! Photography is important to me, with ideally macro, good low-light/ night-time photography and a decent telephoto, but I’m drowning in tech numbers that I don’t understand and am also mindful of a monthly budget. How much better is the 13 PM vs the 14 PM? - I’d love a 15 PM, but budget-wise that’s still a bit out of reach for me.

Images aren’t exact. Slight movements can change an image and i can see multiple images where angles are off so white balance can change delivering a completely different image. I’ve seen this happen by just moving the camera slightly.

iPhone 13 Pro Max win for me. Why? In the UK I can buy 13 PM on eBay for 800 pounds. The New 14 PM will cost £1550. the difference is not worth £700... But it's just my opinion.

I actually sold my canon 760d this year as I’m using my iPhone 13pro max so much now plus I have my 2 DJI drones so have lots photos /videos and my camera bags lot lighter.Obviously my pro canon camera friend with his equipment will be able to extract more from his photos but I’m amazed of quality of smart phone photos now we have .Plenty good enough for me and so convenient and lots of times it’s not what you have but being there the right moment.😮

1:11 yeah sure the clouds are clipping because you rotated more to the sun, it's inevitable brighter and the dynamic range focused on the face. you reduced the clipping by rotating away from the sun so 14 pro looks better

I think overall the 13 got better quality in most cases. Most pictures are crisper, correct color. A great example is the selfie picture. The 13 are crisper. The clouds are breaking up because the sun is just behind it, not on the 14 picture. So I think the upgrade are much marginal. But still I upgraded from 13 pro max to 14 p m, so I’m hoping for software upgrades. I’m not satisfied with the apples promises with 2x and 3x better cam.

I got the 13pro after my iPhone X screen started to act funny, I don’t really take a lot of photos+ I don’t see a huge difference between the two so I’ll probably wait 5 years like I did with my iPhone X

The only difference in the camera are software gimmics which apple could have easily provided the 13 with a software upgrade. The 14 is way to over sharpened, and too bright making images flat. Everything the 14 pro has could be provided on the 13 with a software update except the pill shape notch which is quite annoying anyways and the increased in brightness. The A16 bionic is juz A15 bionic with some tweaks. It's not a new chip. Apple juz made the 14 to rip off people. It still has the USB 2.0 lightening port in 2022 which is still crap by the way. They couldn't even get the always on display right which sucks the battery. The iphone 13 pro max battery seems to be better than that if the 14 pro max in some instances and in other instances it's on par. The image processing and quality is definitely a downgrade from the 13 pro max. You won't even notice any difference in the day to day use as the 13 pro max is as snappy as the 14 pro max.

I feel sorry for peeps defending the 13 pro max coz it just got destroyed. Its really an upgrade! better looking phone without that weird, hideous notch, bigger camera sensor with the new sensor shift stability, better optics, better ff camera, better screen, new features with the cc detection and satellite, faster chip with better battery efficiency and a brigther screen. minimal? everything is upgraded! you know what's minimal? a 12 promax upgrade to a 13 promax.
