Besides the smoother and brighter display and the wide lens, the differences are negligible. A twitch in the camera software for XS Max to boost brightness and sharpness in low light conditions would do wonders.

I have an XS Max 256GB for near 4 years. VERY happy with its great and big display, fast cpu, good cameras, etc. I like the new 14 Pro Max but prices in Europe are too high: 1600 euros / dollars (256GB). I see this comparison and I think I will wait till 15 or 16 Pro… Not many reasons to justify so much money in a phone and the differences are not so much. Smartphones life has been greatly improved. A high-end phone can last 4 or 5 years without any problem. Even 6 if you don’t mind having the best. Reminds me to computers: In my case I replace them every 6 years or more. This is a good thing for the environment and our wallet!

i bought my xs max on launch day. and as long as battery is running I will continue to use it. Probably will upgrade then it stops getting ios updates so have at least another 2 more years with it

i have a xs max but my screen has so many dead pixels and it’s very expensive to fix, thats why i rather upgrade but if it wasnt for that, i would still keep my xs max, it’s a BEAST

Just upgraded form XS max to 14 pro max. The biggest pros i felt are the gorgeous 6.7 inch screen and 120 hz refresh rate, it is just so smooth. Longer battery life, huge camera improvement and overall faster experience. The biggest drawback for me was the missing 3d touch on 14 pro max. I didn't know i would miss it this much but you will get used to the normal hold gesture in time.

I have the XS max and upgraded to the 14 pro max and the thing that bugs me is that I think the screen on the XS max is better than the 14 pro max. Like the grays are darker and whites are brighter. Not sure if im just crazy or not.

@@BIG2hats yeah it’s off on both and auto brightness is off too. I think it might just be that the 14 is brighter so at full/high brightness things aren’t as dark

I went from the XSMax to 14PMax simply because of the carrier deals. I’ve had the XS for 3 years and am getting $800 for it, so cost me $100 a year to own. If I keep it then next year it may not be eligible for similar deals, but trading it in gets me a 14PMax which will surely last longer and perform better, for only $300 plus tax. With this type of deal it was hard not to make the upgrade, but I do love my XS Max anyway, just a matter of getting the deal while I can.

@@jtrtx I was gifted the 14 pro max last December. It’s a decent upgrade, everything feels snappier, specially the Face ID which has been greatly improved, it almost takes no time to unlocks when ID facing, the refresh rate and the camera it’s also a huge upgrade, you also get the dynamic island which is actually cooler and more useful I thought it would be. That being said, I’d recommend keeping your phone for two to three more years, at the end of the day I think the XS max still a very capable and nice phone, keep squeezing as much value as you can out of it.

Recently charging port broke down on my 10s max. I can trade for a 14 pro max with Verizon but all the apps and saved passwords look like a hassle. I think I’m keeping my 10s max

lol just backup to icloud and restore on the new iphone. it's the easiest method out there. It will restore you data, particular settings, app data and even your icons & widgets layout and wallpaper & so on.

Same here. I have a XS 256GB, so I was thinking about upgrading. But its either ~1000 Euros for a 13 Pro 512 GB or 1690 Euros for a 14 Pro 512 (German prices, USD = EURO) or staying with my XS that has never let me down. These prices for the 14 Pro are just ridiculous and I don't want to support these prices from Apple any longer and I also cannot justify that. The Xs battery is down to 81%, so replacing that would be a first attempt to make me happy again. I think in terms of sustainability Apple would be well advised to support Xs at least to 2025-26. I know it's not in their shareholders' interests but anyway they should

I’m in the market for a new iPhone. My XS Max is great except for the battery. My battery life is TERRIBLE. Everything else about my phone is great 256gb but I can’t make it though the day on a single charge and to have to keep my phone charger with me is a massive inconvenience.

My Xs Max has been in my hands for 3 years now, and it’s not bad tbh. There are noticeable things such as bad charging times and stuff, but the main thing for me is the battery life. I find my phone dying within about 3-4 hours of usage.
