The only real reason to wait is to hold out until the fall for an iPhone 15. It might be more expensive, but we expect a lot of new features (especially in the Pro models, or a potential new iPhone 15 Ultra). If you don't want to wait more than six months to get a new iPhoneiPhone.

To answer the apple watch without iphone question; no you cant get an apple watch without an iphone. The watch wont be able to get activated at all without an iphone. If someone you know lent you their iphone you could activate it but would be losing out on a lot of its features
