So, the iPhone 15 Pro and Pro Max hit the shelves with a lot of excitement, but soon after, users started reporting overheating problems. Complaints ranged from the phone feeling uncomfortably warm to temperature readings spiking over 80 degrees Fahrenheit.
Now, Apple has stepped in to address these concerns, and here's the scoop.
It turns out, it's not a design flaw! Apple confirmed that the overheating issue is linked to a software bug in the latest iOS 17. The new phones' titanium frame and aluminum substructure are not the culprits; in fact, they're designed to dissipate heat even more efficiently than previous models.
According to Apple's statement to CNET, they've identified a few conditions causing the iPhone to run warmer than expected. First off, during the initial days after setup or restoration, increased background activity can contribute to the warmth. Secondly, there's a bug in iOS 17, which they promise to address in an upcoming software update.

I switched from realme to iphone 15 and facing all these issues. Heating after minimal use, while charging, and when not. Plus the battery drains quite fast for a new iPhone.

I used 5/6/10 models never faced this issue .. but this 15 is horribly heating .. specially when charging, using apps and even while watching KZfaq .. performance of phone while working with apps is as worse tht I had to reinstall apps again and again .. paid 90k for this ?? iPhone needs to recall all iPhone 15 phones

I think Apple is cheating people by supplying iPhone with low quality battery system. I just bought iPhone 15 pro - 3 months back and now it has heating problem up to 60 to 70 degree while playing FB and you tube for an hour. For experiment I started playing FB & youtube in three mobile devices iPhone, Samsung & one plus. iPhone started heating 60 to 70 degree in one hour whereas other mobiles are in normal /no heating. I think such problem shall be eliminated soon. Apple should compensate to all users.
