The 15 Pro Max is seriously perfect for me. With USB-C, I can even hook my phone up to my monitor now and even play games on ultra settings with ZERO issues. A17 Pro chip was an absolute game changer for me for performance too. Everything is super snappy. Screen brightness is also very good. Now that the screens are much brighter on the newer models, its so hard for me to go back to anything less than the 15 Pro Max. I fully expect this phone to last me for the next 4 years easy. (I go on a 3-4 year upgrade cycle typically and only upgrade when T-Mobile offers good promos for new phones to cut down on cost) My phone is currently still at 100% for battery health and I keep my phone capped at the 80% limit. Cycle count is at 121. Battery is supposed to be rated for 1000 cycles but so far I haven't had any issues.

My battery for my 15 Pro Max 1TB is 100% with a 114 cycle count. Got it at launch too.

I use the actionbutton to launch the remote for my Apple tv on the phone. I use it all the time.

Hi Dan, love the content you and the Mac rumors team keep putting out! I’ve had my iPhone 15 Pro Max since launch day. My battery health is still at 100% and holding up well I definitely love the action button. I have mine mapped to launch OmniFocus and launch Launch Center, Pro, using Federico from Mac stories multi launch shortcut. It’s definitely a solid phone. I think I’m more interested in what iOS 18 is going to bring. I would love to see them come out with a new color option. I’m also interested in the larger size as well. Again, thanks for the great content always enjoy seeing these check-in type of videos.

My biggest regret is that I bought the space black one or whatever they call it. It's constantly getting fingerprints, and I think the "natural titanium" looks so much nicer.

I absolute LOVE this phone! To me one of the best features is the new action button! I’ve programmed it with the shortcuts app to do like 6+ various actions like call my wife , open Apple Music, toggle silent mode, etc etc. All without opening my phone! Super dope once you realize there’s tons of actions you can set it up for.

I have the 15 Pro Max and for the most part I have really enjoyed having it. I upgraded from an S 21 ultra due to reception problems when I would go to my hometown of Chillicothe Ohio. I mean the ultra worked great except when I got to my mom‘s house and my uncles Which is when I wanted to share Facebook and KZfaq but there was terrible lag. Upon buying the 15 promax it worked great the first time but the second time it also had some issues in that area, maybe a dead zone? With 21 I never received a 5G signalbut with the 15 promax I have several times went around updated towers. It has been extremely reliable but the one thing that I really would like is more zoom and if the 16 promax has at least 50 zoom I will probably purchase it or perhaps wait and see what S5 ultra comes out with? All in all there’s no way you can go wrong with the 15 Pro max though. Excellent video, you have a friend in Columbus Ohio!

I got mine iphone 15 pro max towards the end of march 100% battery life brand new from t-mobile 9 cycles

15PM purchased in November. Battery health = 100%, cycle count = 75. Typical battery life is about an hour of screen-on time for every 10% battery drop in battery life, so close to 10 hours. I've kept it in a case and screen protector, so no damage of any kind (even though I drop it once or twice a week, I'm a clutz) I've used the Action Button for the flashlight, but your video convinced me to try setting it to camera. I use the camera a lot more than the flashlight, so this makes sense for me. I upgraded from the 14PM which was not a fiscally rational upgrade for me. It makes more sense to upgrade every other year. But I saw the 15PM and had to have one. And I love it. The titanium frame and the weight distribution make it easier to hold than the 14PM, the 5x zoom is awesome, and even the 1x main camera produces better pictures than on the 14PM (despite that the hardware is identical - it's the behind-the-scenes processing that results in better images on the 15PM). But if someone has a 14P or 14PM now, I'd say wait until September. Either you'll get a 16P or 16PM, or you'll be able to get a steeply discounted 15P or 15PM. Either way, you win, and it's not that much longer to wait.

I have had iPhones since 2007, I have an iPhone 15PM. I just don’t t have issues other report, battery, glitches, heating, no issues. So for me yes, it’s a magical device and operating system!

Seems you left out an important aspect in your final recommendation: the iPhone 16 series should feature optimized hardware in terms of neural engine and on device ai processing should the rumors about all the impending ai features coming in iOS 18 turn out to be true. While it’s fair to point out the advantages of this phone over previous generations year over year and to more prior generations in particular-2024 might be an outlier year. I think this year, at this point in time, I’d recommend ANYONE to wait for the fall models because of the big coming of ai. As Apple does, they’ll announce a bunch of cool stuff come June 8, then announce even more cool stuff for iPhone 16. In the end some of the best features will only make it into this year‘s latest models. If I were a betting man, and I’m not, I’d say wait for September.

I'm sitting here with a 15 Pro at 100% battery health on 140 cycles. This year might be the year I don't upgrade as I really don't want a physically larger Pro. Yes, the extra zoom would be good, but not at the expense of usability, such as those wireless charging compartments on cars and motorbikes that are only just usable as it is. Plus I don't want a mini-tablet stuffed into my jeans pockets, thanks.

Before a photo is taken,it seems very good through the view finder. Its saturation, vibrance and brightness are well on point. The difference before and after clicking is so much and abrupt that i hate it😢. In indoors its good. But this problem happens in outdoor when its bright sunny day.Please raise your voice creaters😭😭😭😭😭😭😭. Please the rest of you people, check your phones as well. Just test it in outdoors on a normal sunny day. Check the brightness , saturation and vibrance of the image before and after clicking. Then report back. We must raise our voice.

My not so little Apple rant. I am fed up with the usual KZfaq shills (on Apple’s and others … reviewer freebies list … to avoid the term ‘payroll’). Not many of you (none …) mention the washed out on-screen colours of the 15 Pro/Max. I just came from a long line of Samsung phones, lately the S22 (non Ultra or + … the plain vanilla Galaxy S22) and there is simply no comparison! Samsung gives you the option of adjusting colour temperature and other nice things such as a ‘vivid’ and ‘natural’ setting with individual RGB sliders. Simply put, you can make the display look just as you want. Apple is offering … zilch! ‘True tone’ does not solve the issue neither do any of the, honestly, pretty useless settings in the Accessibility section such as ‘increase contrast’ or playing around with the horrid ‘colour filter’ options. There is some garbage talk online that the latest ios update affected screen vividness or something to that garbage effect. B****** … it’s just a lacklustre display. Another biggie, whilst I’m on it about the display. The 15 pro touts something like 1000 nits to 2000 nits peak brightness. What exactly the conditions have to be to achieve this … no f***** idea. Apple’s marketing department obviously had a wild time to come with this shit but let me tell you one thing; The lowly, almost forgotten (even at launch) Galaxy S22 … IS BRIGHTER AND MORE VIVID IN ALL LIGHTING CONDITIONS, be that outdoors or indoors. Believe me, I tried every possible setting on the 15 Pro … it doesn’t come close to the peak brightness of the S22. What a lot of b****** from Apple! Anyone thinking I am just a Samsung/Android fanboy … I am getting there! I changed to 15 Pro because I bought a MacBook Pro M2 last year. I like the MacBook A LOT but I am starting to REALLY disliking the 15 Pro. Then there is the issue of the hollow/plasticky sounding screen when tapping it. Samsung back their OLED’s with a metal plate. It means when you tap the screen it feels like solid glass not like a piece of plastic. Apple apparently attach the screen surround only and the OLED panel rests on the battery, hence the awful noise it makes when touching. Anyone saying this is not the case … tap from the edges inward and see what happens. - Really Apple?! Get your design folks sacked and try and snatch some from others, Samsung included! Battery life is … meh but that has, for a change, been accurately documented. Mostly, I assume, to re-direct folks to the more expensive MAX. - Problem is, Apple, in their infinite wisdom (!) have crippled the Max version by introducing that stupid 5x zoom. Most people shoot probably far more within the 3x zoom area. If you look at photos from the 15 Pro Max you soon realize that a large range of the zoom range below 5x is actually digitally done by the camera resulting in clearly inferior quality. This eats also into the 3x zoom and some way below! Now look and compare the 15 Pro (non Max) photos digitally extended to 5x and the compromise is far less, almost equalling the Pro Max’s 5 times zoom quality! Any more than that and things start to fall apart quickly but really, who actually shoots 5x and more to take quality pictures with a phone? If you do … get a proper camera or, if you really must a Samsung S24 Ultra though that one is just one huge, ugly brick … . Still, the usual suspects (youtube shills) of course love that one too (in order to stay on the phone manufacturers reviewer list). Which leaves me with the one and only redeeming feature of the 15 Pro that makes it stand out … the camera. Better than the MAX version, better probably than most Samsung’s including the new ones. It really is a great piece of technology (the camera, not the phone!). How a company like Apple can release such a flawed, under featured turd of a flag ship phone for top dollars is beyond me, especially as the make the lovely MacBook Pro’s. They seem to have truly lost it. I am within the 14 day return policy whilst writing this and think another Samsung (the non-Ultra … Plus or plain vanilla S24) is close. Enjoy

I have a 16 Pro Max as well. Battery health percentage is the same, slightly fewer cycles. I use my action button for mute -- I use that at work when I go into meetings or into production. Not a camera geek, but I love being able to shoot ProRes Raw on it. Got it right before a short jaunt up to New England last year and was able to shoot some nice footage with it.

As someone who just upgraded from an 11 pro max to a 15 pro max, I am absolutely blown away with the quality of this phone. Apple has definitely stepped up their game while maintaining a similar price point which I appreciate, given how overpriced they are to begin with. This phone is everything I’ve ever wanted in a phone, and then some.

Got my 15 pro max in early October on preorder. 128 cycles and I’m still at 100% This is my first iPhone ever. Only ever used android but I decided it was time to try iOS and I don’t regret it one bit. Phenomenal experience so far, especially the battery life. I’ve gotten 2 full days out of this phone on a single charge and I never had that with android. I only regret not switching sooner.
