You’re exactly right. Today’s phones do so much post processing on photos. In a way I feel iPhone users are quite lucky to have so much done for them while us DSLR / mirrorless users shooting in raw have to do all processing ourselves.

Good comparison. I’m just a casual photographer, but I prefer the iPhone pictures to your professional lens. It’s amazing you can carry that in your pocket.

Is it good setup if I use standard iPhone 15 with its 13mm, 26mm and 52mm for close photography and just get a single Sony 70-200 F4 macro with 2x tele converter for everything else? I thought to get Sony 20-70mm F4 before this because it is just a single lens and it cover ultra wide to short tele but realised it's not ultra wide enough and tele enough and not 1:1 macro (I not sure if crop can make it macro enough tho) and my smaller to carry and less intimidated and always be with you iPhone going to cover a lot of it. But what camera should I pair with the 70-200mm F4, it will be a waste and less usability experience to get A7CR than a full size A7RV isn't it? How about Sony RX100 and RX10, will they still make new one with Exmor T sensor technology? They looks like better phone camera across the zoom range than way better than phone camera aren't they? I also like Hasselblad color better and just get a single 28mm F4 (22mm FF eq.) can allow me to crop a lot like from 22-176mm, Leica Q3 is nice one package camera too, So are Leica D Lux 7 / Panasonic LX100II? I also thought to get Sony Xperia 1 V as pocketable camera and iPhone 15 as pocket computer because it's color is more real life than iphone but you end up carry 2 phones that aren't much better than each other much. What do you guys think? I shoot as hobbyist and sometime use for personal works like product shoot. I don't care much about bokeh too because I prefer to shoot photo and video with story and creativity and not blue everything else other than the subject. Should I just shot completely on standard iPhone 15 and use Moment macro, tele and anamorphic lens on the primary iPhone 15 lens? I feel like phone still is like having only one main camera and the others on it are just nice to have and convenient enough to use.

This is an excellent comparison. I truly appreciate that you displayed the cropped image to illustrate the level of detail a full-frame camera can capture. Although I love the iPhone, this review effectively highlights the superior quality of a full-frame camera. I'm also curious about how an iPhone's larger and brighter main sensor with 48MP would fare in comparison to a full-frame camera!

Hi Saurav, can you make a video on comparison between iPhone 14 pro cameras vs iPhone 15 base model cameras because many tech KZfaqrs or tech bloggers are saying iPhone 15 non pro line up has last year’s pro model cameras. I personally don’t agree with that because there’s difference of aperture/ focal length/ lens sensors etc. for example, pro models capture more light in low light conditions with high aperture as compared to non pros, which has better aperture in number.

Please compare with s23 ultra and also use photographic styles for iphone. it would be great ❤

Which camera is it? Its color balance is wow 😻 if you put camera against iPhone without holding backt the camera back not to make iPhone look mediocre camera will definitely outshine it. Because it is made for professional serious shooting not as phones. But one thing I love about iPhone is video color profile it is unmatched and to do it on post it requires some hard work but it can be done

for some reason even though I'm recording 4K at 60fps with my iPhone 15 Pro Max, it's blurry in general

My almost 4 year old Sony alpha ILCE 7M3K was out performing every single smartphone 4 years ago and will keep doing that for next 10 years. I don't enjoy spending 1200$ evry single year for every minimal upgrades. I don't see buying smartphone smartphones for Camera a wise opinion to be fair. For casual day to day photography my PIXEL 5 does the job when I need something extra and more photography specific just take the camera out.

Pro do compare upcoming pixel 8 pro telephoto lens with 15 pro max lens in RAW mode, it would be great to see the result since pixel 8 pro will have a 48MP 5x telephoto lens like last year.

I like iPhone cameras in iPhone 6/6s/6s plus as it doesn’t process the image too much and it’s natural but smartphones now are having too artificial images

I've got nothing against smartphone cameras, but the comparison at around 1:05 is clearly a winner for the 70-200mm shot. You say you the textures are "clearer" on the iPhone, but what's clearer is darker muddy smeared pixels enhanced with digital sharpening and a clarity filter in the iPhone. Whereas the real details are far superior and clearer with the dedicated camera. Darker smudges does not equal clearer textures. And I'd actually expect more for a camera that costs £1300 plus network charges (phones aren't free).

FINALLY someone who says "out of focus" and not BLUR 😭

I have found that my 15 Pro Max will often switch to the main camera sensor/lens combo in low light, even for the 5x zoom shots (looks like it’s dependent on the distance of the main subject from the lens - at shorter distances the main camera/sensor seems to be the preferred choice). Have you checked that your low light shots are actually shot with the 5x zoom tetra prism camera?

At 03:25 mark, look at the iPhone guessing the border of his hand between his wrist watch and thumb. Same thing can also be seen along with his right arm. Now see the next image at 03:27, even the strands of his tiny hairs are visible on his left arm which is probably impossible to produce with a smartphone. Now you know who's the boss.

As per my experience .. iPhone has the worst post processing system.. the photos look so ugly after capturing it.. before pressing the shutter button, it preview is great but once it processes the image it looks like a cheap camera image… shame on you apple… it had been my dream to have an iPhone and it broke me…

So the presentation style was pretty awesome, but it'd be nice to have more zooms of each of the pic to see the details. Like show one pic, and then 2-4 zooms of important places so that people can make up their own minds. Otherwise, detail, noise aren't properly visible and they're the most important aspect of the photo, cos unlike color temperature, they can't be changed significantly. Also, I watched through the whole video because of how handsome you are!!
