I have the 13 Pro, my first ever iPhone and I've been an Android user since day one. Fighting the urge to get the 15 as I dislike the notch and I want the USB C, but then again I've only had the 13 Pro for 16 months and feel like I should get at least another year out of it! I need to stop watching these iPhone 15 videos!

Beyond the cameras which most of the times are fantastic, the usb C port is the biggest improvement this year. It feels more “natural “ to use it.

Ya, the big take away for me is how it feels this year that's the real upgrade but then again it shouldn't BE an upgrade for the phone to just feel better to hold. It's solid device but more for iPhone users coming from an iPhone 11 and earlier.

big change !! It's really great for Apple's loyal customers, but Apple doesn't really care about customers. It drains the advantage until the last minute, then tells you it's a great advantage, but it's actually too late.

No. They’re obviously improving everything that Samsung does. Apple has been working on these improvements for years before Samsung, and Samsung is just stuffing in everything new that comes out and rushing it. So, Samsung is the one who is going to run out of ideas and fail eventually in their phone business, while Apple makes exactly what Samsung is making now, just much better, ensuring they stay in business for many more years to come.

I have an iPhone 13 Pro and I think my next upgrade will probably the the iPhone 17. I typically upgrade every 4 years or so which gives a pretty good amount of new updates plus a new design language to make it really feel more like a new phone. I haven't had any issues with the 13 Pro other than the fact that it feels heavier than it looks but it's not like it's uncomfortable or anything.

The heavier it is the more premium. The 15 is an absolute turn off with that light weight. If isn’t heavy weighted i don’t want it. Also that titanium looks like aluminum

The iPhone 13 line-up was too good. Don't really see myself upgrading from my 13 Pro Max. I could see someone with the regular 13 or 13 mini upgrading, but no one with the 13 Pro/Pro Max should upgrade unless you're a real Apple enthusiast.

The only reasons why I would upgrade from 12 Pro Max are the battery life and the 120 mm telephoto. 2.5x telephoto isn't quite that different from 1x main lens on 12 Pro Max

i think the main change is the USB-C and the the chip that makes it a little faster, but iphones always had a good camera.

What I have noticed, and you can see with the video at 5:20, that the 15 pro max's camera has more 'natural' colors, compared to the 14 pro max's. I BELIEVE, that this is software based. I used to never upgrade, in sole purpose to jailbreak, and the camera quality would be on par with the new release (for the most part). I believe this is the case this year.

I got a iPhone 14 pro max and I’m staying with it , not much of an upgrade for me but a different color and usb-c . I’m a point and shoot type person so not into all that camera stuff . I’ll just wait for next year and see what Apple brings🤷🏼♂️

I got the 14 PM a month ago. Love the heavier feel makes it feels like a real phone. 2.0 is old and lightning charges as same as MagSafe 15 watts. Camera was 2 small upgrades. You should see the drop tests on the 14Pro Max and the 15 Pro Max. Makes the 15 PM look like a piece of junk.

Been considering getting the 14 pro max for a month as well, but the absurd weight and shitty ergonomics of the 14 made me wait for the 15. And now, that the 15 and reviews are here, it just makes me want to get a Galaxy S23+ or wait for the Pixel 8 Pro, lol. 120hz and the base 15 plus would be perfect, but Apple and their disgusting upselling has to buttfuck their customers somehow.

Some people won’t get their phones till all the way to around thanksgiving. 14PM I got for only $11.11 a month on a trade in of S21. $700 trade in couldn’t say no to such a good deal. I went with AtNT. So if you’re interested in a Low rate. Ya might check on it. It’s a 36 month thing. But they give you the option to pay it off early. 14PM has been the best phone I have personally ever owned. Perfect all around phone. 15PM light weight and titanium. Just a disaster waiting to happen when it gets dropped

14PM owner here. I ran a couple of apps side by side with a 15PM and noticed minimal performance difference. 15PM was fractionally faster. KZfaq video loads a little faster in 15PM but playback in highest resolution was the same. WiFi reception in the 15PM was slightly and noticeably better but again, there is not enough difference. Overall, there is improvement but not enough. I think improvements will accrue in the 16 and 17 which should be enough to upgrade to the 17.

13 Pro Max - my battery life is still excellent for normal daily use and the latest iOS 17 updates have improved functionality . While I like the new portrait mode on the 15 Pro Max and the other camera upgrades I’m less excited about the newest phone than when I from the 11 Pro Max to what I have now . I’ll check in to your summary on the battery life in a month’s time as I have read multiple reviews from 14 Pro users that the battery life on theirs was not good and will be interesting to see if this issue has been resolved on the 15 Pro and Max . Overall a very succinct review 👍🏾

As a gamer I chose to take back last year's Max after one week due to touch-latency being terrible compared to the Android. When Iput my finger on display, 👎 had to touch hard and often and this was before I installed a screen protector which really didn't make it worse. Hope this helps. I hope the 15 Pros have addressed it as I liked the 14 Pro Max except it was so noticable. I picked up an S23U and touch latency was back to normal.

Thanks for this thorough review Matthew. This year is definitely more of an former „S-upgrade“. I didn’t want to get a new phone in the first place because I got the 14 Pro Max on launch day last year. Buying a new phone every 2-3 years definitely gives you more value these days.

14 pro max is the smallest upgrade in iphone history lol. I only have one coming from 13 pro max because I basically got the upgrade for free so why not. But 14 pro max was lame upgrade wise. Louder speakers, dynamic island, and better macro photos is all I notice. Not enough gpu performance increase to notice much difference while still not getting the new games they are locking to 15 pro’s 😡 each new phone only has like 10% cpu improvement since the 12. The 14 pro max only increases gpu performance over the 13 pro max by like 12% if that. Even 15 pro max only upgraded performance about 20% over the 14 pro max. And about 1.8x faster for ray tracing, not 4x. Id still rather have 15 pro max due to getting exclusive new games (certainly could run on 14 pm and even 13 pm without ray tracing screw Apple for that) and usb-c there’s at least some improvements

Hey ! This is a great review but your final advice is a bit strange, if your iphone has a bad battery life, just replace the battery, you don't have to buy a whole new phone just because the battery has a bad health :/

But I wish I got the 15 pro max, cuz this doesn’t feel like a new phone lol. Only difference to me is dynamic island tbh.

I see 0 reasons upgrade from my iphone 13 pro max. This phone is still great. The only bad thing that is battery health is 87 % (bought in October 2021 and i play Genshin Impact a lot), but battery life still insane.

@@patj6462 I don't think so. My mother still use iPhone 8 Plus and have 73 % battery health and phone still works fine. Original battery with like 70 % way better then new cheep chineese copy with 100 %. But I’m thinking of selling 13 Pro Max anyway and buying 15 Pro Max, because I have a 1 TB model and it will be very difficult for me to sell (most people buy 128 or 256 GB models and don't need 1 TB version, especially with very used battery).

its always profitable having to look at all these amazing different youtubers and what they have to say about the phone it gives me a different view on whether its satisfactory to upgrade to the latest realize... however all these videos are leaning more on how good the phone feels in the hands, me knowing at the end of the day i will have to keep it mostly in a case

Also the 14 pro is more durable than the 15 pro after seeing that drop test between the 2 where the 14 pro completely dominated in durability I guess it's because of the rounded corners on the15 pro

I haven't upgraded my mobile phone for the past 6 years because it gets me all I wanted I use Huawei Mate 20 Pro I don't see any hickups the only problem I face is Battery issue it's downgrading. My next mobile phone will be Apple iPhone 16 or 17. (Only if they change that goddamn design and add new features or I'll shift to samsung or Google Pixel)

I’d take the 3X lens over the 5X any day. Another prime example of people just thinking a higher number equals better. 3x zoom or 77mm equivalent is a far more useable than 5X or 120mm equivalent in mobile photography. It also means anything below 5X zoom up until 4.9X is going to look better on the 14 pro max. This is no upgrade.

The 15 is basically a watered down 14 pro. 14 pro has promotion, AOD, 15 does not. I would say 14 pro but entirely up to you if you don’t care about promotion and AOD and all that jazz.

It has been a while since I had an Apple Phone, I just had one once because I have been mostly a Samsung user. I think the last time I had one was back 2015 or earlier. My family are Apple user so I decided to go back to Apple again.

I agree with the pro max 14 being so big. I caught myself switching to the one side keyboard often bec im to lazy to type all across this big screen but I love the big screen for gaming and movies.

Thats weird. Both your 1x looks the same. The iPhone 15 pro max should be sharper as it has 24 mega pixel, double the sharpness. Go to setting and switch it to 24

I havent noticed any improvements when it comes to lense flares, it still shows theese annoying green orbs, specially when taking night time photos around city lights etc. you will see the flares are still there just like before. I was really hoping that they finally got rid of rhem or at least that they been reduced but sadly not.

for me i have the iphone 12 pro max pacific blue color. or i can wait for the iphone 16 pro max. or i could wait until the iphone 17 series. coming in 1 to 3 years and maybe a full screen/ display. and also thin bezels for the iphone series. is it worth it to upgrade to the iphone 15 series. or i can get a gaming phone for a good price.

Interesting you pointed out the speakers are the same across the two models. MaxTech has uploaded a comparison video showcasing that there is indeed a difference between the two. I wonder if this is only due to their unit being subject to daily use, therefore collecting lint/dust or other particles that could impact clear audio reproduction.

I went and sussed out the camera specifications, seeing that the sensor and optics were practically identical on the mains lens except for the new coating (Which doesn't seem to help with that orb thing unfortunately)

I have a 12 pro max . The battery most likely won’t make it another year atleast not without a lot of headaches from me on capacity. Also my zoom camera has failed where it won’t focus and that bothers me enough to want to get the 15 pro max . Also I like titanium and 120hz display is nice

@@MatthewMoniz No 120Hz on non-pro models is the major one, apart from no faster charging and lack of customization (for reference, I used to root every phone I got before jumping to iOS XD).. If only they had given 120 hz on non-pro, I would have upgraded to 15 ... But now, I want a refresh and iPhone got nothing new to offer

I went out yesterday and bought the iPhone 14 Pro Max because I love the stainless steel sides. Yes I know they’re heavier and they attract fingerprints but they’re so shiny and beautiful. I love it. The new ones on this edges are just so terrible on the iPhone 15. It looks awful. There’s no bling bling or shiny of any kind it’s worthless to buy until they come out with something more beautiful if you’re looking for the looks I mean I like you make a point there’s not much difference in specs and you can argue that the 14 Pro Max is still a better overall phone compared to the 15 even camera wise
