Huawei Mate 60 Pro Plus is even better. Using better sensor for main camera. But Iphone has gone a long way. Its HDR was extremely weak in previous models.

As a current owner of Honor Magic 5 Pro, but previously I had Mate 40 Pro, and before that several iPhones, I say that Huawei really makes great phones and pure cameraphones. If only I had known about the release of the mate 60 pro before, I would have waited to buy the Magic 5 pro and bought the mate 60 pro. I think you can confirm that in Europe the Chinese version of the Mate 60 Pro works easily on the 4G and 5G telephone and internet side, right? This really is an amazing comparison of the two best phone cameras till date! I prefer the iPhone's soft look, it's easier to sharpen than soften stills. Video, the iPhone still rules. But I don't use Apple products anymore, so 🤷🏽

I am an avid Android user but I have always been thinking iPhone has the best camera, until now. It's unbelievable how Huawei managed to produce this high quality camera regarding all the sanctions. The US was scared because Huawei would have definitely crushed Apple and Samsung if there had been no limitations then. Can't wait for more groundbreaking innovations from Huawei in the future.

I feel the shaprness issue on the iphone is due to slight mis-alignment when it combine multiple images. To test this hypothesis, one can mount the iphone on a tripod and take the photo to do comparison

I'm not an Apple user but it has an amazing camera, video especially is exceptional! I have no idea what the Mate 60 Pro costs plus it's not Android and there's no service center here but the quality is amazing. (And for that one strange HDR shot, have you used a silver reflector close up? 😃) Would you suggest it anyway? I'm a photographer, so the images will look even better processed, but HarmonyOS? Compatibility issues? 🤷

All depends on what you want to do. HarmonyOS is no issue for me as I don't use and rely much on Google services. But you need to know and see what is there. If you rely heavily on Google services or apps that need them then maybe look for something else.

According to my subjective assessment, I think that iPhone 15 Pro Max won this comparison. I didn't rely on your observations because I don't understand you. This is impressive. Huawei competes with the iPhone in terms of video quality and not relying on excessive sharpness. I think they have revealed Apple’s secret in the quality of video recording. Huawei is doing the impossible.

According to DXOMARK (an independent professional smartphones, cameras & lens evaluation & testing company) to-date Huawei P60 Pro has the best camera performance, slightly higher rating than iPhone 15 Pro Max & Samsung S23 Ultra. Huawei latest release Mate 60 Pro+ is yet to be evaluated & tested. If evaluated & tested, based on past records, probably the camera quality is at least equal or better than their earlier released P60 Pro.

I have to retest the P60 Pro at one point I think. The version I tested especially lacked with the main sensor bokeh and AF being a bit unreliable. But if they improved this with the same main sensor and improved ultrawide on the Mate 60 Pro+ this would be a total winner.

Yes, this company is profit-making like all other companies. But one thing I am sure this company is non-biased & independent & doesn't favour any company that pay them well. Through the years of viewing their ranking lists for smartphone the No1 ranking for camera, selfie, ... changes with manufacturers & models. Sometimes it was Samsung, then iPhone, Huawei, ... etc. For e.g. today Oct 4, 2023 for smartphone (1) Camera - No.1 is Huawei P60 pro (2) Selfie - No.1 is iPhone 14 pro Max (3) Audio - No 1 is Black Shark 5 pro (4) Display - No. 1 is Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5

Great comparison and unbiased. Nice job and thorough. In regards to soft iPhone vs oversharpened Huawei I'd always just softer since detail is there clearly in iPhone and you can apply some form of unsharp mask, and if you shoot raw you can always apply more sophisticated forms of sharpening and denoising. It's a bit aggressive on Huawei side if you ask me. Other than that both are two perfectly capable AAA camera systems!

Judging by the disassembly of the smartphone, the mate 60 pro has a sensor comparable in size to the mate 50 pro. That is, the sensor is definitely smaller than 1/1.28

-Front video, M60 has better hdr but iPhone keeps face tone accurate -Back video and zoom, zoom seemed better on iPhone due to the contrast. Huawei has more saturated tone and IPhone keeps it more realistic. Super close there I noted in ultrawide there is focusing issue on huawei?

Just wonder if you can try Huawei assistant Celia and compare it with Siri. It seems Celia understands instructions better than Siri but in Mandarin. If you can record one with English, like open the camera, take a picture and send the picture to a group of my friends. Celia can follow the instructions in Mandarin.

Mate 60 Pro is better for clearness on all photo and video capacity, and colors. The older Samsung Camera is the most reproduction of natural colors. Both the cameras are artificial colors. Mate 60 Pro is more crisp and clear.

Yeah I wish I could do it. But funds are low P60 Pro is already gone I don't have it anymore. Mate 60 Pro was expensive and the iPhone 15 Pro Max as well. Donations are almost non existant and no one is sending me those phones for testing.

Depends on what apps you need. If you need a lot of Google apps and your banking app is not supported on Huawei its a no brainer. Otherwise I did not try out the Mate 60 Pro+. I think its pretty expensive for import.
