You forgot to mention that you need the eyes of a hawk, nerves of steel and the patience of a saint. 😊 Those screws are so small. And the battery adhesive was a royal pain in the rear end to remove. . That said, battery replacement successful. Thank you for sharing your knowledge with us.

I have watched several other video tutorials and this one is hands down the best. All the steps are covered including an important one: connect the battery to the mother board AFTER you connect the upper and lower flex cables to the motherboard, then the metal plate over the combo battery connection/LCD flex cables. Finally closing up your phone and applying gentle pressure as shown then installing your charging port pentalobe screws. Very well done.

You don't have to unscrew the Taptic Engine, now my Homebutton/fingerprint won't work anymore, thanks.

you probably damaged the home button flex or didn't reconnect the taptic engine properly

Jay Raut yes correct, i’ve replaced the whole screen.

Yea if you still have the original home button you could probably get it to work again

You're right, you don't have to remove the Taptic engine, but it does give you more room and a better initial grip when removing the adhesive tapes. I've done it both ways with no issues - just a matter of preference.

Not sure why the need for battery dhesive. Battery is. Snug fit Will not move

Any tips in how to get the battery out if all the 4 tapes broke off no matter how slow I pulled they all snapped and now i cant pull out the tapes

Hi mate - easy way is to slit the battery bag with a razor blade and remove the battery from inside its polythene cover. With the battery removed, the outer bag can be easily peeled back.

Excellent video with great lighting. I have an iPhone 8 that will need a battery replacement soon and would have loved to have done it myself. However, this process is a little too complicated for these tired old eyes and fat fingers. I’ll bite the bullet and take it to Apple when the time comes.
