Hi everyone, this is JD, your gadget review friend.
Today is a very intersting fight of two Apple iPhones and with all the hardware upgrade we might have an idea who will win this test. But the question is, is the a big difference in the image and video quality over the span of 4 years. Outside this comparison test, iPhone 13 is the newest phone of Apple and boasting the cinematic video and also the more expensive device while iPhone 8 is a very solid and serviceable phone thats is pretty cheap and reliable. I came here expecting a bigger difference between the two iPhones, but now I can confirm that, despite of the battery, my iPhone 8 is still suitable for photos and videos :D

Just yesterday (August 2022) i took pictures from my iPhone 8 and friend took from iphone 12 . All Photos took from my phone were little better. Even she admitted that 👍

If we set manually hdr on iPhone 8 it will give better details on blown out parts like iphone 13 because i am using 8 plus

Well I had an iPhone 8 and upgraded to iPhone 13 two weeks ago! I don’t regret it honestly, for me the battery life means a lot and the software updates as well.

very useful thanks you! i am trying to find out what phone should I jump up to to buy having an 6S, pictures quality are important from me and night shots with the 6S suck, they look like the 8, so your video tells me I have to keep searching up.. i know the XR is good, but is there an Iphone 9 that could give me the XR quality and cost me cheaper?.. i ll find out..

I went from iPhone 8 to the 13 pro last week. I believe the iPhone 11(or 11 pro) or anything up would my sufficient! My sister has an 11 and her pictures look almost as good as mine!

Colors was soo much better on iPhone 8 in the video and also many of the photos at least for my taste, but I agre on that the skin tone was better on 13

Its kinda sad how each year they pump up these phones like their so much better than its predecessor. 8plus user and will be till the phone stops working. Im not a photographer or a movie director. The iPhone 4 camera was already good enough to take a picture of some food or a morning dump to annoy friends.

I never get why people decide to review a phone camera without even taking the effort to leave their house. Really, dead plants are not really helpful in comparing these two cameras.

This might be an older camera review. Almost all my comparisons now are outside. By the way, this was taken were Covid measure in Canada is taking effect. We're not allowed to go outside if we have nothing important to do. As if you'll pay if I got ticketed by officers. Kiddin! 🤪😜

So... I own 13 mini and previously 8+... For me 8+ wins in most of the categories, only selfie not. It makes subtle beautiful images, no horrible HDR and overbrighten sun or sky situations and just has such a beautiful natural feel and you can capture special light more easily, also super detailed and just better! :) Super disappointed with 13, but wide angle is a good addition though..

2:38 u can do better if u do manualy turn on hdr and ajust the exposure and edit, iphone 13 can do better without edit

8 had both better sounding audio(not to mention call quality) and warmer colors throughout the photo/videoshoot. 13 feels like Samsung distilled excrement.

I fully agree with you. The iPhone 8's audio definitely sounded more natural.
