When iPhone lock screen is unavailable, you have two free options to erase your device and remove the passcode. One is to enter recovery mode and erase iPhone with computer, and another one is to reset the unavailable device with Erase iPhone option, no iTunes needed.

How to bypass iPhone lock screen saying iPhone Unavailable or Security Lockout:
1. Unlock with recovery mode in iTunes or Finder: You have to turn off your phone first. Then depending on your device, press the side button, volume down button, or home button while immediately connecting your phone to your computer. This will get your iPhone to show recovery mode screen. Then use iTunes to restore it to factory setting and erase the passcode on the unavailable screen.

2. Unlock with Erase iPhone option: You need to continue entering wrong passcodes until the Erase iPhone option appears at the bottom of the Lock screen. Tap on it and use your Apple ID to reset. This will wipe the iPhone totally clean, but if you have a backup, you could restore your data.
Note: The process will erase all content and settings on the device. After the process is finished, your iPhone will boot up with the Hello screen. Set it up and restore your data from an available backup to the device, so that you won’t risk at data loss after the reset.

No you don't need to sign in iTunes. Just plug your iPhone into the computer and make it enter recovery mode. Then iTunes will recognize the phone automatically.

You can follow the on-screen prompts and re-enter your passcode after waiting a certain amount of time. If your iPhone doesn't show “try again in X minutes”, try method in 2: 16 or 6:30 in this video to unlock your iPhone.

You can follow the steps based on your iPhone model: -For iPhone 6 and earlier, hold the Side button for seconds until the power off slider shows up. Slide it to shut down the phone. Press and keep holding the Home button while plugging the iPhone to your computer. Only let go of the button after there's a recovery mode screen on your iPhone. -For iPhone 7 and 7 Plus, press the button on the right side until the power off slider comes up on the screen. Swipe it to the other side, and your iPhone will be powered off. Then hold the Volume down key and connect iPhone to computer at the same time. Don't release the button before the recovery mode screen appears. -For iPhone 8 and later, press both Volume down and Side button. Wait until power off slider flashes. Drag it to turn off your device. Then hold the Side button and plug the iPhone to computer simultaneously. Don't relax your grip until it's got a recovery mode screen.
