Here is what worked for me!!! I tried everything--hard reset, plugging and unplugging the headphone from headphone jack, put the iphone in airplane mode for 10-20 minutes, go into Sound under Setting and play with the ring tone, clean the headphone jack with Qtip and Bic pen cartridge end, reset Network Settings--nothing worked. The iphone was still stuck in headphone mode after all these maneuvers. I was about to give up when I read from a thread from Apple Discussion and a solution that worked for many people on that thread. Here it is: 1) have someone call you, 2) turn on to speaker mode, 3) turn off the speaker, 4) plug in your headphone, 5) un-plug headphone. This should work! (Actually, I had to do this couple of times before it finally worked for me. So don't give up if it doesn't work the first time). Good luck! It took me a few hours, but now the iphone is working again. I am so happy.

My mind is absolutely boggled. I'll try to make this short. I have an iPhone 6 Plus.Both microphones seem to work perfectly fine (I've tested the bottom microphone with Voice Recorder-- super clear. I've tested the top microphone with Siri and Voice Dictation, understands me every single time) HOWEVER Whenever I make a phone call with this phone, the person on the other end cannot hear me whatsoever.This is not a matter of being muffled, this is literally no sound at all.The only sound that comes through sometimes is a crackling noise, almost like ruffling a bag of chips or something. How can both of the microphones work perfectly fine but then completely not work only during phone calls?Anybody know what is going on?

None of these millions of tips worked for me,I’ve watched so many of these videos and was convinced that it was my phone just burning out but then I turned on my Bluetooth connected to a speaker then turned on my airplane mode turned it off then it started working again. Hope this helps!!

Turn phone off. remove SIM card for a minute. Put Sim Card back in. Turn phone on. That’s what worked for me 🤷🏻‍♀️

Okay so. I got a q tip and I put it in my headphone jack. And it didn’t seem to get anything out. I took more of the fluff off of it and went deep inside it and guys it was so gross! But I turned my phone off while I cleaned it then back on and now it’s working thank u!

I let my headphones plugged in for an hour or so and watched youtube. It works!

Tried the q tip head inserted into the jack plug hole, hey presto it worked perfectly and removed a lot of small dirt/debris that wasn't visible! Great tip thanks saved me some money.

for those tried everything like me just use airplane mode, restart your phone, normal mode and boom!!! Working again!!!! I can't describe how I'm happy :):)

My volume seems to work when I am In a call, but as soon as I hang up it says headphones again!

you guys can turn off your phone and connect your headphones and disconnect them 3 times while the phone is off. it worked for me. Good luck to anybody who does it. Hopefully, you get your volume back.

I just fixed mine today. I stuck in Headphones mode for about two days. I tried everything, watch every tutorials on KZfaq but nothing worked. What I did to fix mine is I cleaned the headset port first by using a pin and cotton buds. After cleaning, I played a music on my iPhone while continue plugging and unplugging my headset. Just do it continuously and also press volume button to check if it changed from headphones mode to normal mode. Do it until it goes back to normal. Try it, that's the only solution that works for me. I hope it works for you too.

Omg this helped so much! I was out in the rain with my headphones out and even though my phone didn’t get wet accept my headphones my sound wouldn’t come on even when I took the headphones out. I did the settings options and now I can hear again! 🤧 thank u!

i try to using cotton bud and clean the deeply headphone jack, but its not worked for my phone, so i try to charge my phone and my volume its good, now my phone not in a headphone mode again❤️ you can try if your phone in a headphone mode i wish it work too in your phone

Cleaning the headphone jack worked. Tried a few times but never dared to go deeper... until I shoved the q-tip in and turned the tip around several times. Voila! Headphones -> Volume.

After doing everything these videos told me, it still didnt work... Then I installes the latest drivers, restarted the phone, and lastly, once again, plugged in and unplugged a pair of headphones. Then everything was fine Try doing a second restart if none of them worked, the once again plug and unplug headphones

I tried everything BUT !!! I came across a comment saying to update the software. At first, i was like??????? I was doubting it because I thought the problem was inside the headphone jack (because I dropped it in the tub). Then, I was like okay, it doesn’t hurt to try. AND Y’ALL IT WORKED !!!

I Just Fixed Mine. Go Into Your Alarm Sounds And Play The Default One. whilst It Is Playing, Put Your Headphones In And Wait For The Sound To Come Through Your Headphones. Pull Them Back Out, Close Anything That's Open And Go To The Home Screen. When I Pressed My Volume Button It Still Said "Ringer." Open A Video Or Something And Then Try Volume Again. Can't Guarantee Success But It Worked For Me. Hope This Helps.

Guys, just power off your phone. Then leave it for a good 20 minutes or so, and it works!

Guys I did a easy method, make sure your battery is low and plug in your charger. Then, once you do that, you are gonna want to turn of your phone, (hold the power button and turn it off) then just let it sit there for a couple a mins and it should work. I did yesterday and it worked and I was happy I can hear the audio again. Hope this works
