The entertainment businesses is so, so competitive. You don't get second chances. People like Lisa are great because she makes everything look easy and like she's having fun when God knows how long she's been working that day! When someone makes it look easy, that's special. Her advice is valuable and I believe she is showing that she cares about the trainees and also her own reputation.

I would give everything to have a mentor like Lisa. Someone who’s a true professional and isn’t afraid to tell you exactly what you did wrong is exactly what anyone needs to become their best selves. Of course it’s always painful when you’re trying your best and someone you look up to points out your mistakes. It’s frustrating so it’s valid to want to cry, but that’s the driving force to constantly become better than your past self and eventually succeed.

I honestly think it’s so disrespectful/hurtful to single out members like that “she’s dancing it wrong” like who the fuck doesn’t know themselves?? It is not constructive criticism, by signalling her out it doesn’t help her in any way and as a result she gets more nervous and doesn’t perform well. I’m also in the opinion that it’s more important to enjoy dancing and put your heart in it than getting dance moves on sync, but Lisa seems to not be teaching any of that

Lisa is not being a bad mentor. I was in a dance class and my teacher always tells on what you are doing wrong or right, if not your never gonna do it right. Do you prefer people lying to u and you doing all wrong? If they aren’t at least a little strict u are never going to learn.

Tahiya Tufa Lisa is not really fluent but she can speak a little because of her father (stepdad or.. whatever) Rosé and Jennie are the more fluent ones since Rosé was born in New Zealand and raised in Melbourne, Australia while Jennie studied in New Zealand for 5 years. Jisoo can understand but she’s not really confident to speak it since she’s still learning (the girls are teaching her)

Ah yes, I remember Jennie telling in an interview that only Lisa get grade A in their monthly exam where they sing, rap and dance. They do solo, duo and group. They choose the song they sing or dance to. They choose their own outfit and do their own make up. They were graded in every aspects from self presentation to stage performance.

I rememberer in an interview no one was allowed to speak english to her so that she would learn Korean language quicker that is why she would always stay up late than the other girls because aside from practicing she has to double time learning Korean quick. Imagine practicing dances with a language barrier, then she always excell, man Im so damn proud of her.

Hobi World You obviously haven't taken a dance class before. Some mentors are even harsher than LISA. You do notice that most of the best dancers in the world have VERY, and I mean VERY harsh mentors. If LISA was soft at them, they wouldnt be as good of a dancer and they wouldn't learn quicker and learn to focus on small details.

Kriss B comparing to other mentors she is actually pretty light on them. She’s doing her job professionally, she’s not trying to lower their self esteem down she’s just trying to show that if you want to be an idol you should at least do your job right. You know alot of people hated her because she had a “fake cute” side but now we get to see her like this the hate comments still come in. But you know what she didn’t give a fucc. She continues to do what she does because she’s a queen.

Y'all would criticize Lisa if she's too easy, and y'all are criticizing her for being too strict. Personally, I would rather have a mentor who knows what they're doing rather than one who is easy on every trainee. Being a competitive dancer myself, this is the norm - it takes discipline and drive, and obviously, she's going to hold the trainees to the same standards she was held at. If they can't get something down as simple as counting down fingers in time, netizens are going to tear them apart. Their role is to be an entertainer and she is simply preparing them so they can be the best - if they don't want to put in the effort or better themselves, then what's the point? (Edit: For those asking where these criticisms of Lisa are, they were here when this video was newly uploaded.)

I'm not a dancer, but I can say that this applies no matter what you decide to learn. I'm a programmer. Imagine if I wasn't dedicated to learning and improving. Eventually I'd be in a situation where I've worked on something important and it stops working and causes massive financial losses. Respect what you do, take it seriously, always try to improve.

I know giving feedbacks is good to make the other person better and Lisa is really doing a great job for that. It's just that some people couldn't handle the pressure and would breakdown after. Put yourself in the trainee's position, she bring a lot of emotional pressure to them which is not a good way of teaching. Maybe it's YG's negative influence.

Nah you don't always have to be strict for someone to well perform a cheoreography. In a show called The Unit for example, a guy named Daewon teached a band how to dance and he wasn't strict at all. He kept encouraging them to do better each time and the band ended up improving a lot. Even the most harsh dance teacher like Bae Yoon Jung gave some compliments sometimes and some trainees gaines some confidence, so it prooves that Lisa wasn't too harsh. It also shows that people can do well under pressure but little compliments and kindness keep them going, so even though Lisa said they didn't do the moves right, she showed them what to do without being too strict and that's what all dance teachers should do. She had the right balance between strict and kind. (so my point is I don't agree with the fact that all teachers have to be strict, but I agree with the fact that she wasn't rude)

I agree. I think if we stan any kpop groups/artists, we all know how hard they have to overcome to debut. I cried almost every debut video of any kpop groups. The fact that they have to keep practicing and practicing non stop, being yell by the trainers, and they didnt even know they exact date they can or will debut, that hurts, some was a trainee for 10 years or more. At least here, everyone has a timeline. For kpop idols, no one promise you about that.
