superbly explained Sir, good job! I had an IR module , I attached a 5 vmotor pump to it using a TIP32C transistor, Output from module is attached to base of transistor, VCC 5v from power source & module to the Emitter & positive line from pump to collector, when the current is switched on it makes the pump to run continously , It , however slows down when an obstacle is brought near the IR transmitter / Photodiode, is there something wrong with the IR module? I was trying to make an automatic soap dispenser

I found the solution to the problem, I realized there are two types of IR module in the market , one with single LED which works well with BC 457 transistor , as shown in your schematics & other with Two indicator LEDS, which works well with TIP32C /TIP 42c

It is not about colour... It is Infrared rays... Black colour fully absorbed IR rays.. Other colours may partially absorb/reflect. White colour fully Reflect IR rays

In outdoor: cover both LED. Sunlight can emit ir rays, our module may disturb

@@SDevElectronics Can ne555 timer relay module be used for OFF delay also > for both activating the load and hold/maintain its ON position up to specified time (0-10 sec) ? in a IR sensor +ve output circuit ? triggering on off again and again by IR sensor output ? as I am annoyed by the on off flickering Output of IR sensor relay circuit and its sound while using it as automatic sink/basin hand wash process, as hands sometimes goes way from IR leds.

It works based on the principle, Reflection of Light... More brighter light, more distance.. Note: we can't see IR rays through naked eye

Make sure your connecting right terminals of photodiode. Put multimeter at terminal 3, the voltage at that point should vary... Even everything is right. It may take some time to work perfectly..

When connecting the pump this circuit it continually on or when we move any object near to sensor then pump stop working otherwise it continue working Any suggestions how to solve this problem

I think you may use relay... Relay may be in reverse logic, Use opposite logic relay
