My dad loved the Shah so much, almost worshipped him. He was so against the revolution. But I am afraid that's now half a century old. Times have changed. Even Reza Pahlavi is not relevant to the people any more. He could be a logical and sensible leader but there is too much negativity and bad history for that to be a viable option. In my travel across Iran & my close ties with Iranians, I am always pointed out the grand infrastructures (schools, colleges, roads/train tracks etc.) build and the good lives they all lived till the era of Ayatollah came with its stifling Islamic laws. Most want & miss their civic freedom that they ended up losing, apart from their current economic oppression. They also regret their big mistake to precipitate in the Islamic revolution and bring Ayatollah/Islamic law and replace Shah's secular modern lifestyle. Karma!!
