On this channel we like to do a lot of dogfighting most videos are some sort of dogfight between 2 different aircraft as we explore their different capabilities. From time to time I like to dabble in Virtual Reality, I think VR is a great new technology and I love to show that stuff off for the channel from time to time.
If you enjoy war thunder or Microsoft flight simulator 2020 or even dogfighting in Battlefield 2042, consider getting yourself into Digital Combat Simulator by Eagle Dynamics, the Combat side of Aviation with the BVR and Dogfights really provides a different and interesting perspective on aviation. You can fly all kinds of combat aircraft including the F-16, F-15, F-14, JF-17, Su-27, Mig-29, Mirage and the F-18 Hornet along with many other aircraft and helicopters like the Ka-50 and Mi-8.

It was R77 not R77M. The R77 has side metal fins on it, while the R77M has conventional fins on it like PL 15 or AIM 120D.

I wouldn't think they'd mothball them given how needed they are even with Su-35s in the country. Probably more of an addition than a replacement. Otherwise they're left with modified F-5s and MiG-29s to reinforce the Su-35s

They won't have that much... An Su-35 is like 60million. A Shaheed 136 is like $10,000. It''' take 60,000 Shaheeds to equal an SU-35.

They'll keep the Tomcat around as an AWACS substitute since they're sorely lacking in those. The true challenge will be if they can figure out a way to datalink their Turkeys with the Flanker-Es. *THAT* would be impressive.

I grew up about 5 miles south of the airport in Sioux City, IA where the livery on his F-16 ran up until about 2008 when they changed the airbase over to KC-135's. Seeing that livery brought back some awesome memories growing up around those fighters

The F35 is nerfed in DCS. The model doen't perform like the actual jet especially re the countermeasures suite it posesses and it's stealth masking. It's basically an F15 with an F35 body model.

@Karl with a K the F-35 in reality is more maneuverable than the F-16 and hornet and is faster accelerating, has better electronic warfare suite than the Growler, and has the most powerful radar in the world. An F-35A with 4 AIM 260s and 2 CUDAs would absolutely destroy anything Russia has in the air

As the Su-35 is one of the few successful and battle hardened fourth generation aircraft, they will probably see more export in the future. I really like that desert camo on it too. Something I'm curious about though, why is that an US F-16 and not an Israeli?

@@dnorrish117 I dunno. Countries that historically bought Russian equipment or do not seek alignment with the west usually are rather loyal customers and I don't think they're bothered by it. Vietnam, Syria, China, Malaysia etc. Iran however is a new customer, it's actually a very big deal for them because it's a symbol for the shift from the last remnants of western influence in the country, under the era of the Shah.

It would be interesting to see what a modern take on an f16 would be like. Complete redesign. It was essentially built from the ground up to be a dog fighter but take it a step further with a pure focus on thrust to weight, turn rate, turn radius and overall agility. Oh and somehow keep it from literally killing the pilot lol.

Hey GS, I was looking at your system setup and saw that you are running the 2TB Samsung 980 Pro, I am running the same drive, but I wanted to make sure you knew about the Firmware issue on that drive that were produced in 2021. Samsung has an update firmware patch for it, but if you are running firmware version that starts with the number 3 you should look at getting the update before your drive stops letting you write to it. The bad firmware version is 3B2QGXA7. I would just hate for you to be plagued with the problem like I am right now. Keep up the awesome content you have me hooked on DCS now, but I have a long way to go before I stand a chance on a multi player server lol..

I've been watching this channel and the skill you demonstrated here seems like a good proxy for The real deal. Except I think the real deal is much more bound by fairly arbitrary geopolitical/traditional conditions.
