You're rocking this. I've watched lots of specific skill videos, but I have never seen them put together as a progression, and from someone who teaches so well. I'm your target - street rider who bought a dual sport, and found that I need new skills. But where to start? Right here! The clutch is for power control? I get that now!

I’m a little older and on a 500 as well. Balance is a skill I want to improve as I age and continue to ride. This series is the best. I was taught a few of these drills in my 40s and tying them all together is great. Rich is a tough but mindful instructor.

New subscriber here! I have been riding street forever, 2 yrs ago I got a middle weight adventure bike (650). I love the idea of back gravel, two and single track riding. But, I so lack the the skills needed to control my bike on any surface except pavement. I can see how these skills will transform my experiences. Better skills equal more confidence and less mistakes, which will result into more enjoyable rides! Thank you so much for sharing these drills! RC

Hi, great series. I noticed you mentioned keeping the peg on the ball of your foot. I’ve had coach say keep the peg in middle of your foot to allow the rider to move the weight back and forth on the bike without moving your foot and also enabling changing gear and applying the back brake without moving your foot. How do you change gear and apply the back break while keeping pegs on ball of your feet?
@IRCTireUSAMoto
@IRCTireUSAMoto Жыл бұрын
That’s incorrect. Riding on the balls of your feet allows for more flexion and extension. This also allows for a proper knees above toes not in front for so much more movement and control over the machine. The majority of the time when riding your not (shifting or braking) you are attacking and controlling. I move to the rear brake when needed. I move to the shifter when needed, then always reset on the balls of my feet. Top modern riders are on the balls of their feet the majority of the time.

Hey Rich. I understand you say to stay centred and maintain even pressure on the pegs, but why do you suggest dragging the front brake rather than the rear? Coming from a street bike I was always told to drag the rear in slow situations.
