Prior to 2008, people invested in shares & equities. Post 2008, people GAMBLED on shares & equities.

There would not be nearly as many jobs, enterprise and development, today in the Leitrim, Fermanagh, Cavan, Monaghan area and beyond if it werent for the legacy of Quinn.

This is completely true and not in dispute as far as I can see. Unfortunately, he took out loans against those companies to cover the loses incurred by his gamble on Anglo Irish Shares. It is hugely regrettable that as those shares became worthless, Quinn lost control of his assets which secured those loans. It is unfortunate and simple in equal measure. Even more regrettable is that more was not done to dampen down the anger that ultimately lead to Kevin Lunney's brutal assault.

I always ask this question about millionaires..How much do you want?..This lad had more than enough to do him for the rest of his life..No sympathy for him whatsoever...Greed was his downfall end of story..

Some companies got bailed out others didin't. Sean Quinn was on the wrong side of that deal.

At 75 hes no kid and will not be returning..His family though thats a different story... Quinnbet for example is thriving as an online gambling site. is under his daughters ownership Brenda Quinn.
