Khalid is great actor! I unfortunately remember his role as one of the terrorists from the film United 93. It was refreshing to see him in the Crown

When the very opening shot of Ep. 1 of the new season panned up from the street to show the Eiffel Tower, my heart leapt into my throat and I knew what they were going to do to set everything up. Very emotional!

Ive been watching The Crown faithfully since it first came out. I had high hopes for this last season. The Crown, in the past,has never failed to deliver to its audience. The first part of season should be called the Diana and Dodi show. Episodes 1-3 are nothing more than a painstakingly slow build up to that tragic event in August of 1997. Episode 4 deals with the fallout. Other things besides Diana and Dodi’s relationship were happening in the U.K. at this time. The transfer of Hong Kong to China is just one example. This transfer is one more example of the shrinking of the Commonwealth and England’s loss of stature on the world stage. Elizabeth Debicki ‘s hauntingly brilliant performance of Diana is nothing short of remarkable. Diana’s death was handled with respect and dignity. Too much time was spent on her during season 6. Her story could have been better concluded in two episodes max.

The transfer of Hong Kong to China has been handled and shown in Season 5. There are still six episodes left, so we´ll have enough time to focus on the rest of the cast and story.

The British traders rented Hong Kong from the Chinese imperial emperors for 99 years. They simply transferred the territory back to China when the lease was up in 1997. The people of Hong Kong wanted to stay British as u saw in the recent mass demonstrations against the ccp . The Commonwealth is a voluntary association of member states. They can choose to stay or leave as they please. The British have always believed in self government not rule. Ps South Africa was expelled from the commonwealth because of apartheid. They returned when Mandela became the president. The Queen kept her promise of returning to South Africa when her friend Mandela was freed.

I agree. I felt there was very little focus on anyone or anything else. I understand the need to pay respect to PD but felt it had changed focus entirely. I was happy to see Part 2 has 6 episodes but now I am hearing it jumps to 4 years later so we are missing a lot of other things within the Royal family that happened around that time. The primary character used to be the Queen and the entire first 4 episodes she was rarely featured. It almost made her seem aloof and totally unconcerned with anything other then PD. Hate me if you want but that's my opinion and I hardly think that's fair or anywhere near the truth.

I'm surprised at Khalid's comment that The Crown had a big research department as they seemed to miss so many things. The photographer who took "The Kiss" said in the NY Times he had never been contacted by The Crown at all. They seemed to want to weave that whole event into the storyline that Al-Fayed snr wanted Dodi and Diana to marry and was meddling. The truth from the photographer himself is just as dramatic so why not reflect it?

The Crown has made Phillip out to be an awful dude. Elizabeth is Diana incarnate which makes the show even more emotional.

I have to say, with respect to the actors, you learn more things about the “character’ of Philip…I still think Netflix should have added a disclaimer. All that said, I’ve never cried as hard watching any show-ever. And my heart does go to the Royal Family who I hope don’t watch.

Basicamente foi isso: o ator que faz Philip comentou o efeito que a morte de Diana teve para seu personagem, a atriz que faz Diana comentou que foi difícil filmar a morte da princesa para ambos (ela falou o termo “angustiante”), tanto para ela quanto para o ator que interpretou Dodi. Quanto ao ator que interpretou Dodi ele comentou quanto foi complexo encontrar filmagens para dar uma base para como recriar o personagem

The series took a nose dive with the first part of Season 6. It was shockingly bad writing and the fourth episode was bizarre. Utterly disappointing.

Well yes not everyone follows what should be done. He's an actor so, touch comes into play. I doubt they were drinking real champagne, there are actually Muslims by name n family who drink, as I'm sure you're aware the real Mohamed Fayed and Dodi Fayed drank?

Loved Emma Corrin's Diana. Don't see Debicki the same way although she made an obviously huge effort. But her voice is too prissy and breathy. It's stylised to an extreme degree, "mouthed" too much, and just annoying to me. Having said that, it's got to be extremely tough to create a vision of such an iconic celebrity. Wish her well in what will continue to be a celebrated career.

SPOILER ALERT!!!! The last two seasons are badly done. Season 6: Diane is a bottle blonde, dorsn't really look like her. Charles doesn't even look like Charles. I was hoping the last season would be more about Elizabeth's r anticipation for for Ay2K and refcting back Diana, hthe Queen Mum's and Mrgaret's death, gradually accepting Caillia.
