Nice stand, what is it? Look like it has support underneath the phone. I use a case that makes the phone fall off the MagSafe charger and would very much like to not having to take the phone out of the case every time I use standby mode

Can you swipe out of Stand by mode to your Home Screen ? without disconnecting from the recharger. Seems like you're stuck in stand by mode once you place it until you pick it up...

Good info. The main issue for me is that you are expected to know where to find all these neat widgets and which of approximately a trillion third-party apps contain them. For example there is no (that i can find) stock digital clock for the two colum view. Also, unless I've missed it you cannot have the widgets on the first two column screen simply swap between them, say every 30 seconds, which i first thought smart rotate would do.

Great video. Unfortunately clocks was one and done for me. I was able to edit the clock face color by long pressing and then pressing on the white button to select a color but now it no longer works. Apple Support and Senior Support is even stumped. Any suggestions for Settings besides StandBy.

The whole standby mode becomes useless when you find out it goes off after 30 seconds unless you have iPhone 14

Sadly it's buggy on my 13 Pro Max. I'm hoping it gets fixed soon. Within about 15 seconds it fades. From there on out it only shows placeholders where the clock and the widgets are located. I tried disabling it then re-enabling it to no effect. I'd like to have it working but it is what it is. Haven't run into any other issues with 17.0 though.

it’s normal for it to turn off within 15 seconds since it doesn’t have always on, only the iPhone 14 Pro series and 15 Pro series

So I have an iPhone 14 Plus, iOS 17. When in standby mode, like above, it sometimes show widgets (if set clock and date) and sometimes leave them like "placeholders" (not configured). I did choose clock and calendar. Any idea why it sometimes shows it correct and sometimes it will show placeholders instead of choose widgets.@@jahhh8456

It won’t let me edit the widgets on my 13 PM and I can’t even swipe between the ones that are there to begin with, I’m stuck with the weather and one photo from my album that I’m not interested in seeing. It doesn’t even tell me the time! 😂 on the plus side nudge to wake wakes so all I have to do is tap my side table to see nothing of interest.

there is a night mode which you could try and turn off. settings>standby>dim light or something like that. :)

This only works when plugged in while charging, also goes off around 15 seconds & when I go near it it activates!!!

Came here to try to know how to get out of standby mode. My phone got stuck in it, even when taking it off its side and unplugging it. Had to ask Siri to take me to a webpage to get out of it.

Standby mode only stays on if you have Always-on Display(iPhone 14 Pro and the 15 Pro)

It’s not much better on the 13 PM, having edited some stuff when I first looked at it I went back to dig a little deeper and the whole thing is just frozen, it won’t allow me to edit it or even swipe on it and I can’t access the homescreen unless I stop charging. WTF Apple!

Apple has started to screw up a lot in little things. If Photo Shuffle wallpaper is selected, nothing but photos can be set in standby mode. It shows only photos and time in the upper right corner.

It goes red when its dark in the room, if the light is on, it will get white. Unfortunately u cant change the colors. Iphone has designed it that way…

I can see devs locking standby widgets behind pay walls/subscriptions. Seems to be happening for the dynamic island as all my apps say it’s an extra cost. I’m starting to hate devs that turn phone features into software dlc/microtransactions

Dude overcharging isn’t a thing anymore.😂 Yes you will degrade your battery more if it’s constantly at 100%, but that’s not an overcharge. Also it has optimized charging, so it only charges to 80% until you need it to charge further. But I also agree, that it would be nice to set that.

Dont turn this on. Standby uses the camera to watch you while you sleep. See this for urself. Put it on lay down once it goes off move you hand and it opens again
