You have said that IRFC's income has been rising @ CAGR 13.96%. Profits are are rising by just 12.28% But Finance cost is rising by almost 24%. So in future the company's profit will dwindle.

There is some issue with the IRFC stock. Just look at the volume that it is generating. There is a huge Buy Sell order being placed eveyday betwwen 21-20 Rs. Which indiactes that someone does not want the price to increase. Archana, If you can check and share your findings I would appreciate it!!!

You forgot to mention that there is currently a case is running against IRFC (I am not going into details - read in prospector doc) which can cause 26K million rs. Which is nearly equal to its net profit of a year if IR looses. Take this also in consideration

Madam, this is a very good overview on the "Commercial aspects" , of the monopoly, it would be good to talk about the grey side also....."political influence", how does the "other risk" people would face e.g. political influence on the tenders. how does the govt tendering machinery work which bleeds the organization and forces any system to become a NPA :).

1-Indian Government might not default but might delay payments & IRFC could default on interest payments if that happens which will led in drop in rating of the bond & interest rate would increase subsequently also having a single client is a big red flag. 2 one of the privatization risk you mentioned other would be IRFC may loose the advantage of being a sole financier as the private players may opt for other financial intermediary. 3 Mostly when ever company decides to go for IPO it is at its higher growth phase but here 12% considering the recent interest rate their is nothing exciting..

Even if MOF starts giving funds directly to the Indian Railways, the Current Assets will be still under the ownership of IRFC and not IR. The Government will be able to do this only after 30 years. Good Analysis.

The real question is assuming it opens on nearly 100% gain on listing, would it make sense to buy it in the open market at that price point of about 50 Rs ?
