I‘m so glad to hear that! I only see people talking about the good sides of tech and I want to be transparent and share the bad as well. Thank you for letting me know, this means a lot to me!

You are very artistic. You can probably work as a part-time art or crochet teacher. Also, as a software engineer it is always better to know in which industry you want to work - finance, insurance, health etc. and focus on getting jobs in these industries. As you get older, you can either stay in technology or move to other roles in the organization if you have good work experience in the chosen industry. Many European companies let you work remotely and so you can still travel and work.

Thanks for sharing this, Iris. Currently going through similar thoughts in my head hahaha. I have those same thoughts about work being draining and I started a newsletter on the side. Now I started getting the first few brands reaching out, but doing it just on the side gets me sometimes super tired. For me the biggest thought about regular job vs doing something on your own is the opportunity cost. A lot of people talk about saving money so you cover your living expenses for a while and take a leap of faith. But I know I would be thinking about how much money I would have done if I just kept the job and did everything else on the side. Somehow that makes me more motivated to do it on the side than to jump all in. Anyways, sorry for the rant. Have a nice day and best of luck with the KZfaq channel. I got better at writing thanks to my side project, but camera presence and speaking are skills I want to practice in the future

Thank you sooo much for sharing your experience! It helps a lot knowing that others are going through something similar :) I totally understand what you mentioned about knowing how much money you‘d be able to save if you keep your job and work on your side project at the same time… It is such a tough decision! Whatever you decide on doing I wish you all the best on your journey ✨👏🏼👏🏼

I've been following your channel since the third video. As someone who is pursuing a masters also in SE with the same dream of exploring the world and meeting new people while working remotly, I think you give very valuable insights and expectations of what is to come and is really nice to follow your personal development along the way. I never had a break from studying and working and I definetly feel it would be an incredible experience once I manage to get enough savings for it. As you already mentioned, it gives you time to be close with the people you care and to discover and develop parts of yourself that you may not even know because of the everyday stress of worklife. This is the most valuable type of richness in the end. Looking forward to your next chapters :)

Already 7 months? It feels like yesterday when I watched your "I quit" video. At the same time, I was moving to NYC to start a new chapter of my life as a software engineer. Best of luck with your new adventure! Both as a KZfaqr and a crocheter. 🦕

I was to buy some cheap expired olives with garlic and basil but i was regurgitated them due to low quality. It s like they have wings to go out of my stomach. Maybe was this bacteria are very active...Being old and expired is worst than being young and fresh.

🦖 Already done that multiple time, but being an Asian we are tied up with parents emotionally and socially. So any new creative work gets barred by the thought, "They want me to do Job". I believe this is a prerogative of a future where devs would be asked to take a month leave after one or two quarters each year !

Long time no see! Great to see you again! I think you should have quit your job a long time ago. I just learned something from you, so if you stop coding you get happier and more energized? I wish I could quit as well! How can I quit my own company? :)) If you want to build your own mobile apps and need advice let me know, I have build a few. 🦖

Hahaha :D I miss the coding part so much!!! That sounds really cool, having your own company must be so fulfilling! I‘ve thought of building my own apps for a while but never came up with ideas, but who knows what will happen in the future :) all the best for you 💪🏼😊

@@iris-tabea I love coding as well :D. Ideas don't just come, you learn how to come up with new ideas. It's pretty simple actually how to create new ideas. You just mix/add existing ones. But, you don't really need new ideas, just pick something and and try and make it better. I learned that if you keep building something, one step at a time, day by day, you will eventually end up having something very impressive. P.S. I really envy your travel experience and really wish to follow you.
