Irish lawmakers on Wednesday called out the West's “double standards” for imposing sanctions on Russia after invading Ukraine but not doing the same to Israel over its violations in Palestine.

It's also not against jews, it's against the state of Israel, which commits crimes against humanity and human rights! It's sad to look how they bomb childrens and schools, cut electricity and water and ruin their foods, so they suffer and die by hunger and thirst, lack of medicine treatment, as well as on the hands of Israel forces!

Throughout my youth, we always heard stories of the struggles of the Palestinian people (I remember the scarves being very popular) amd I suppose that many of the tales chimed with our own history. Many of us feel a strong kinship with the Palestinian people, which goes back a long time. The brutal and violent treatment meted out to Palestinians daily by the Israeli state is grotesque.

My father who was a 1st generation Ameriacan of Irish descent, both parents from Donegal and spoke out about the Palestinians and how horribly they have been treated and I was proud of that. He paid dearly for that career wise but eventually got back on track. Please never stop until Palestians are free from this oppression. Recently viewed how Israeli guards were intimidating Palestian children at checkpoints and they were terrified ! Another video of beating a young girl who was if I remember right, 14 years old. What kind of people do such things to children ????

I have already said this in an earlier comment but I'll say it again, the Irish people have suffered from colonialism and oppression by the british so as a people we have empathy for others who are enduring similar struggles. Iran supported the Irish in the past and even renamed the road outside the british embassy in honour of Bobby Sands who was one of our hunger strikers so thank you to the Iranian people for that. Iran has always been the strongest supporter of the Palestinian people and I've no doubt that you will continue that much needed support. 🇮🇷 🇵🇸 🇮🇪
