I'm right there with you. I lived in Mexico for 5 years and never once did I ever hear of or see a Fruit Quesadilla. What are they going to test them with for a Mexican dinner, a Chimichanga ? Another dish you don't find in Mexico.

The breakfast burrito is something you'd get in Carls Jr. I can understand the flavors being "mexican", but it's just not actual Mexican food. I do appreciate the effort and the intent, and I think that a tourist that is visiting America would probably find these things around labeled as "mexican", so the irish reaction is worth it.

"America" is not a continent, there is a continent called South America and a continent called North America, and together they form a region called "The Americas. I understand that in Latin America they use the 6 continent model, that's fine, but in the anglosphere we use the 7 continent model, and for this reason "America" is exclusively the US.

How about some machaca with frijoles puercos, a corn tamale lightly toasted and cafe de la holla with fresh corn tortilla and some requeson on the side. That is a Mexican breakfast.

YaLøcalNemesis yes i have the same answer for this, im mexican and in my life i eat fruit quesadillas, only quesadillas, in the breakfast, eat chilaquiles, tamales, eggs to taste or eggs with chilaquiles, tortas, quesadillas, the burritos is more common in the North of México but not for the breakfast.

I’ve never put rice in my breakfast burritos. One of my favorite light meals is avocado burritos, just avocado with salt in a tortilla warmed up on the comal….so good. But fruit quesadilla….Never heard of it. They should have tried conchas. When I went to Ireland I was really excited for the full Irish breakfast at the B&B…they had beans and tomatoes with it!

I've never seen any traditional Mexican cookbooks or chefs refer to this. The closest I've seen is a bunuelos with sugar and cinnamon, which are usually fried and crispy Did you grow up eating them? I just haven't seen them other than in fusion style Mexican restaurant

As an actual Mexican this is the real mexican breakfast I would served them. First dish: Eggs with chorizo and a side of beans with queso fresco, also with Chilaquiles. All served with a side of tortillas. I would also give them sour cream if the want to add to the chilaquiles. Second Dish: Give them a plate of tamales of different flavors. Like beans and cheese, rajas, and corn. Third Dish: A large quesadilla with ham, avocado, and tomato. Also served with beans and queso fresco and some mexican rice. Fourth dish: A plate of menudo, which you can add line, cilatro, and onions if you want. Also give them some tortillas. Drinks: Give them Horchata, ponche, or basically any flavored soda from the brand Jarritos (I would go for the tamadido flavor) If you couldn't tell yes Mexican tend to eat a lot of beans in their dishes.

Marcus Figueroa I'm not sure you could handle it. In Mexico most food contain spice that give it a delicious burst of flavor to Mexicans but for some reason other people think it's spicy. For real WTF is a fruit quesadilla I have never seen, heard, or tasted such a thing.

Mexican beer is like a tecate with a Frosted glass with salted rim, inside of glass with lime rub and slices and your choice of dos equi, corona, modello etc. , yum. No chili rim. It’s really good with authentic Mexican food. Carnitas tacos, street tacos with chicken or beef. Carne asada, fresh salsa and guacamole with fresh warm salted tortilla chips or relish and warm corn tortillas buttered mmmmm.

Yes, huevos rancheros would be an all around thing and burritos are definitely a thing up north (though this is the more Americanized version of burritos). Fruit quesadillas don't exist and nobody drinks micheladas for breakfast, though.

I find it very funny that many foreigners consider that our breakfasts contain too much food. we Mexicans are used to "having breakfast" with many things considered more appropriate for a lunch. A Poblano breakfast (Central Mexico) consists of a glass of banana smoothie, a glass of fresh orange juice, a plate of bean chalupas with salsa, or you can even replace the chalupas with things like a plate of watered down soup. , with stew from the day before, or even with much heavier dishes such as pork in green sauce, just to mention a few dishes. In addition, all our dishes are very spicy and spicy. And yes, those are not REAL MEXICAN food, those are Americanized Mexican dishes.

They needed chilaquiles, menudo, and gorditas. I still appreciate the effort they did of trying to find mexican breakfast. The michelada was done wrong, way wrong, and a fruit quesadilla is not a thing. The michelada was missing clamato! It's suppose to be redish.

As a Mexican, I feel extremely sorry for people that think burritos, fajitas, chalupas, chimichangas and nachos (etc) is Mexican food. the majority of people think Taco Bell and many of these experiments represent our real cooking.
