I grew up in Ireland when it was poor. I left just before it became rich. Then I watched it become poor again. Throughout the ups and downs, the Irish have stayed pretty level. God bless them.

I was a bartender for many years in Minnesota so it's not just a southern thing. It is definitely a club shot though. You're not going to order them at TGIFridays with dinner. You're going to order them at a club with a big, butt ugly doorman who makes you wait in line for no real good reason.

as a bartender, it drove me absolutely insane that they aren't shaking mixed shots. it's literally not the same shot if you just pour the ingredients into a glass.
