Four Loko is a popular 'flavoured malt beverage' from America - a sweet, carbonated drink with a fierce amount of sugar and alcohol percentages from 12% to 14%. We have NOTHING like this in Ireland, so of course we sat down our Irish People to see what they thought!
P.S. - For the purposes of this video, we used two varieties of 'flavoured malt beverage', Four Loko and Joose. This was purely down to what was available to us. Overall they're the same style of drink!

Was pregaming with four lokos before going out to party hop the weekend of Halloween around campus. I took a seat on the sofa to wait for my friends to get ready before heading out. My next memory is me sitting in the same spot except daylight is coming into the apartment. I asked my friends why they let me pass out on the sofa before going out, which they reminded me that I had gone out with them in epic fashion. Till this day I have no memory of leaving the apartment but I hear it was wild

My buddy drank 2 cans (that's 8 lokos) and left us at the bar. Apparently he ended up rolling on the sidewalk out front while spewing everywhere. My other friend and I came out and saw an ambulance parked. We walked towards it and laughed at the idea of seeing him in there. He was in there. He told us he woke up in the hospital the next morning with no idea what happened. Thanks four loko!

I worked for the beer distributor who sold these in my area of the US when they first came out, back then it also contained 2 red bulls worth of caffeine. So I bought one of each flavor there were only 4 kinds at the time, I go home and start drinking them. 6 hours later I wake up on my buddy's couch who lives half way across town and was like oh my god I drove here! He said no apparently you ran here, full sprint then kept talking about going to the bars, then you fell asleep on my couch.

@@shaunoleary9774 That's fucking disgusting. 5 hour energy tastes/smells like vomit.... I actually tried that mix w/ the fruit punch, and couldn't even taste the four loko; had to dump it. Then again, I saw a bunch of underclassmen a few years ago buying giant bottles of Olde English / other cheap malt liquor and whole packs of 5 hour energy shots to mix into it.... I'd recommend just mixing a 16oz Monster w/ 7.5 oz of vodka; it's basically the same mix as the original four loko.

@@ronnysterling7694 I think the story was 1 or 2 college girls drank 2 cans each in an hour and died (which would've happened if they drank that much wine that quick too), and it became a moral panic; every TV station was running stories about how this new evil thing is killing your children. It was an easy target for politicians to look like they were doing something productive, and they would go on tv and talk about how this new cool thing that adults don't understand is destroying lives and corrupting the youth and society.... and so the FDA banned it; ~2008. It's like how pinball used to be banned back in the day. It's dubious that the ban would actually hold up, b/c they didn't make pass a law, the FDA just made up a new rule, saying "we said alcohol is okay and caffeine is okay but we never said you could mix them even though it appears to be safe and has been done for hundreds of years". And it only applies to bottlers. Bars and people are still allowed to mix them. :-/

I have a buddy who’s legitimately married now because of four loko. He was balls deep in can four when I jokingly asked him when he was going to marry his girlfriend. I could tell it was a sensitive subject with her since she had a snarky reply to the question and BAM!
